"Radon mitigation. Had 100+ radon reading and Ramone came out and installed a mitigation system with three ducts to reduce the radon level. Good quality at a fair price. Highly recommend!"

"We live in a 1920s craftsman bungalow. We love the look and style of the house, but the energy efficiency is obviously not the greatest. We called Howard to try and get some help to try and make our old home as energy efficient as possible. Howard was a pleasure to work with and was not afraid of getting dirty. He crawled around in our crawl space and our attic and ran a blower door test and found multiple things that would help increase our overall home efficiency. A day after his inspection he sent an email with photos and recommendations, some of which included links to products that would help and some of which were safety issues (HVAC and Hot Water Heater Exhaust issues, etc.) He also listed recommended contractors that would be great to conduct the work. Since, we've done all the work he recommended. We JUST got the work done, but I'm confident it will help tremendously. I would recommend Howard to anyone trying to make their home not only more energy efficient, but safer. As a bonus, he's also super responsive and friendly."

"I asked Georgia Radon Solutions Company for help to reduce the radon in my basement, which had a reading of 8. Mitchell Stein contacted me 2 hours before arrival. Upon arrival, he inspected the basement and explained how the work would be done and addressed my concern about how the duct would connect to the outside. He also gave me a reasonable price quote. He then noticed that I had an Aprilaire Energy Recovery Ventilator installed in my basement. I told him that the ventilator is not working and needs needs to be fixed. He suggested that I fix the ventilator and get it running, which may then solve my radon issue. I took the suggestion and fixed the ventilator, and now my basement has a radon reading of 2. I greatly appreciate Mitchell's professionalism and honesty. He was willing to put aside business profits to look out for a customer's needs, which is hard to find nowadays."

"Paul was absolutely fantastic.  We had a house under contract that had a high radon reading of 7.1, and the buyers asked us to mitigate prior to closing.  So we had a small window of time to address the problem.  Paul's estimate was ultimately the most competitive, he was able to come in quickly with his crew, and our radon reading a couple of days later was 1.1!  <br /> I recommend him with complete enthusiasm.  He's super nice, arrived right on time, left the house in great condition and was a consummate professional.  <br />"

"He was able to come by the same day (within an hour of calling)! He was very knowledgeable, and only took samples that he suspected could contain asbestos, including a ceiling tile and portion of plaster joint compound from the wall. We just got our results back (less than 24 hours later!) and no asbestos! We are very thankful we consulted with Echelon before spending on costly abatement procedures."

"I used Home-Probe to do a pre-listing inspection 2 months ago. Jessica took my initial call and answered all of my questions to make sure I had a good understanding of their services. Mark Kinzie did the inspection and he was friendly, thorough, professional, and honest. I used Home-Probe again about 2 weeks ago to do a home and radon inspection on my newly purchased house. D.V. Caitlin did an excellent job and I felt confident knowing what repairs needed to be done. I'd recommend Home-Probe to anyone!"

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Palmetto, GA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
