"I have been a homeowner since 1991, and this 1961 4BR colonial is home #6. I am an engineer and always leave the homes I've owned - especially the systems - better than I found them. We have made many home improvements, including finishing the basement and expanding the heating system from 1 to 4 zones. The heating system and flue is serviced annually. After a long stretch of cold weather, we noticed a smell of oil in the basement. Around sunset on the first day, they diagnosed that part of one of the clay chimney liners had collapsed, partially blocking the oil flue. On the second day, they arrived shortly after sunrise and worked 10+ hours to install a metal chimney liner and got us up and running by sunset. Both the on-site and office crews were incredibly helpful, respectful, and responsive, even providing original photos for a my homeowner's insurance. I would highly recommend Certified Chimney Inspections to anyone with routine or emergency chimney or masonry issues."

"We had a short amount of time to replace the roof on our house. Glen came the next day after we called. He had a worker go up on the roof and measure. He was able to give us samples and a quote within 20 minutes. The next day, we called Glen and told him to proceed with roof replacement. We had to give a 50% deposit for materials and scheduled the work to start a couple of weeks later. The crew of about 10 men arrived on that day and immediately began stripping the roof. They did find a couple of rotted boards that they replaced. They also installed a ridge vent. The crew were excellent and polite. Even though the temperature was in the 90's and high humidity, they were able to get most of the job done that day. Glen was there at the beginning of the process and stopped by a few times during the day and at the end. They did come back the next day for a couple of hours to finish the odd corners we have. Clean up was excellent. They provided the dumpster."

"I had received a letter from my Homeowners Insurance Co. that it would cancel my insurance based on an inspection from the street done in 2009. What she saw was a few shingles that were replaced not exactly a matching color. The replacement was do to a storm in 2009. I never filed a claim, because it wa only a few hundred dollars. I went to Angie's list and found Cornerstone Contractors. I am glad I did. They contacted me in a few days and set up a time for the inspection. They came on time. Inspected the rook and made a couple of repairs at no additional expense. They sent me an evaulation which I forwarded to the Insurance Company and they are continuing my policy.  They did tell me that I may need a new roof in 5 - 6 years. Based on their professional work, I won't even consider using anyone else when that time comes...Thanks to all.

"Went well,very nice to deal with and informative.Came back when I called back because the smell of smoke was coming into the house.They checked it out and said everything was fine.Claimed it had something to do with the chimney being on the outside wall and the cold weather.The weather hadn't been that cold when it was happening and the chimney was not on the outside wall,maybe 7 feet away from the outside wall,so I don't quite understand the explanation.Again,very nice to deal with.

"Everything went wonderfully with this company.  They were very professional, listened to exactly what my problem was, and explained to me how they were going to diagnose the problem and/or solve it before doing any actual work.  Once they started, the team (three people came) worked together like a well-oiled machine.  One was in the room with diagnostics, one was at the fuse box looking for possible problems there, and the third went into the crawlspace beneath our house to look at the physical wiring.  Once the problem was found (there was a faulty wire beneath the house that had come loose from the junction box), it was fixed and tested within minutes and another full diagnostic was done to make sure there were no other possible issues.  They cleaned up after themselves very neatly.  They also replaced the light switch with a dimmer switch at no extra cost!  Well within my budget, and came in even lower than their original (FREE) estimate!  I would highly recommend this company to anyone in the Bergen County area.
