Customers say: Quality work

"We are using Lamp Design Build to do a major renovation of our home and are currently over half way through the project. It is coming along very nicely. They have worked with us to get the most out of our budget, provided great recommendations in designing the project, and are very satisfied with the quality of work. From the office staff to the onsite workers, everyone has been a pleasure to work with."

"Mr. Martinez did the repair very quickly and competently. Very favorable impression thus far. However, as of the review date we have not yet had a major rain after the repair date to provide a test of its effectiveness."

"Our home was lovingly built in the late 60’s. The bathroom was craptastic: avocado green flecked tiles up the walls, green toilet, green sink and the green swirled countertops to match. We reached out to Veteran Home Repair to jazz up the joint. Tyler completed the job on schedule and now our bathroom is the ?! It is absolutely breath taking. Calgon take me away."

"This was a complete renovation which included removing wallpaper and a "popcorn" textured ceiling; repairing and replacing damaged sheet rock then painting the walls, ceiling, and trim; removing old and installing new fixtures (tub and surround, toilet, lights, vanity and sink); tiling the floor and the walls around the tub.  The work took longer to complete than we'd anticipated but this was understandable since Jason did all the work by himself.  He's very conscientious (paid attention to details, put in extra time to make sure the job was done right) and trustworthy.  Jason always let us know when he would be coming, showed up when he said he would, and let us know if he needed to change the work schedule. We're very pleased with the quality of Jason's work and will definitely consider using him again. <br />"

"Mr. Goodworth's crew responded quickly and started excavation and form installation. Pour was conducted on 03/20, the forms was removed on 03/21 and Mr. Goodworth arrived the same day and collected the total amount noted below. I have not seen him since, but I discussed the holiday repairs the the same day and the following Mondays for 3 weeks. He assured me these would be repaired on 03/21 and each of the following phone conversations. It is apparent that he has no intention of effecting holiday repairs so a warranty is a pipe dream. Issues: 1. Raised lumps on top of the finished slab and voids in the concrete along the side (they did not work the sides nor use a vibrator to insure no holidays along the sides; poor workmanship). These have not been repaired and will be something I will have to do personally. 2. They were careless about dropping and not recovering nails during form installation. After recovering 5-3" nails on the drive, I scanned the entire area with a magnet and recovered an additional 5. Keep in mind this is a driveway for two vehicles and for the use of commercial vehicles making deliveries. 3. When Mr. Goodworth and I reached agreement as to price for the works, it was originally $1900.00. The price was worked up from a 4" slab ($1650.00) with an additional $250.00 for an additional inch of concrete. When payment was requested, it had jumped an additional $50.00. While $50.00 is not a lot of money, it gives an indication of the contractor. I have to accept some blame for this because I did not request a signed contractor for the works. Conclusion: Angie's list gave Mr. Goodworth a stellar rating of an "A" in concrete work. It was the sole reason I selected this contractor to do the work. Photo,s can be supplied upon request. I can be reached at 985-892-9639 to discuss an issues on Mr. Goodworth's shortcomings."

"David and his crew were really great to work with. David is friendly, helpful with painting suggestions, and very easy to communicate with. His crew did really high-quality work and kept our building impressively clean for a major painting project. David was also really flexible as I kept adding new tasks to their job. One example was a new drywall wall that a previous contractor left unfinished. David's crew sanded and textured the wall, and when the texturing didn't match perfectly with other walls, they sanded the entire wall down again and re-sprayed a different texture at no added cost. I also appreciated the final walk-through where David had his crew on standby to address anything I wasn't happy with, and he said if I found anything wrong down the road he would send someone out to make it right. We would definitely use this company again."

"The entire project went exactly as we planned and Chuck offered suggestions on the design, amenities, and other details. We were kept informed of the schedule for each phase of the construction and the approximate time the crew would arrive. We liked working with Southern Equity Contractors because we wanted to do some of the work (painting and some finish work) and Chuck accommodated us. Chuck was easy to work with on various details and made sure we both agreed to any changes and would be satisfied with the final  result. I would use Chuck on any future home projects. <br />"

"I give PandA Restoration an A plus!! It was hard searching through all the typical companies that want to charge exorbitant rates, perform mediocre work, and don’t really care about the customer. I was happy to find PandA, which exceeded all expectations by far. Paul was the first person to email me, was in close contact with me daily, and went over and beyond to work with me on the price (which ended up being about half of what other contractors wanted). He was honest, hardworking, fair, and delivered outstanding results. From now on, I will be contacting PandA only for ALL of my home’s restoration and repair needs."

"Mike Semel of Superior Home Improvements provided us with a concise estimate, delineating the scope of work and the total cost for work completion. His was the lowest of four estimates we received. The cost combined with Mike's professionalism and communicative skills made our choice an easy one. Mike ordered the proper Flood Vents necessary to meet FEMA specs and remained in contact with us prior to job start. The Flood Vents were installed and the bathrooms' fixtures removed with no disruption to our household. All the work was done in the promised time frame. <br /> Mike Semel's pride of ownership for his work was refreshing and welcomed. He insured that the appearance of the Flood Vents blended seamlessly with the structure's exterior. At job completion, both the insides and outsides of the enclosed areas were neat and clean. <br /> We would not hesitate to recommend Superior Home Improvements. The versatility of the work performed together with the professionalism evidenced in the process and completion of that work make calling on them in the future a "no brainer". <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Pearl River, LA

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
