"The owner came down to give us an estimate on what it would take to fix standing water issue in a house we were looking at purchasing. He performed a thorough inspection on what was causing the water to sit in the crawlspace and went over what would be required to keep the moisture and water from affecting the structural integrity of the house. While we did not end up purchasing the home, we greatly appreciated his willingness to come down and do an inspection and give us an estimate. They were recommended by my stepdad who had them do a crawlspace encapsulation on his house. He said they perform first class workmanship and were professional. The owner also came back after the work was finished to ensure that everything was done correctly. Would recommend to anyone needing any work done on their crawlspace."

"The team assigned to the job was excellent..  They arrived on time worked efficiently and were done in the time they quoted.  They disconnected major appliances and replaced all of the connections.

Upon receiving the quote I was told that I was charged to move and replace heavy furniture.  The installation team moved the heavy furniture but did not replace it.  They told me that once the work was completed the concrete was too wet to replace the furniture and they would not be returning.  I contacted the office only to be told that the estimator that I signed the contract with a few weeks prior was no longer with the company and that since it was the Friday before the holiday no one was left in the office.  I was assured that I would be contacted the following week to schedule to have someone come out and replace all of the moved heavy furniture after the office administrator checked the work order and verified that I did in fact get charged for moving and replacing the furniture.

It is now nearly a month since the work was completed and I have not been contacted by the company to have the items replaced.  Very poor follow up for a company that wants both positive reviews and referrals.  I will contact them again to schedule someone to come and return my furniture to its rightful location but I am hesitant to recommend them as the follow through is not very good which in my mind means the job was not completed."

"

David was on time and very professional. He spent an appropriate amount of time evaluating the 2 areas we had requested. He documented the inspection w/ photos, measurements, and sketches. He provided a verbal preliminary report and is to provide a written final report w/ specifications for the mods we are proposing. (Removing a wall upstairs and a post downstairs.) We were happy to hear that our mods were going to be less complicated than originally thought and consequently less expensive. We have the peace of mind that the proposed changes are structurally sound and will be done correctly.

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in Pennington Gap, VA

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
