"We love our basement remodel. Peter, Alex and his team were here when they said theyâ d be here, completed the job as described, and kept us updated along the way. The basement now looks and feels clean and bright. The additional space doesnâ t feel like a basement at all and is enjoyed by the whole family. We highly recommend Lux Renovations."

"Tom Hawks had the best pricing out of the 4 people that I had come and do estimates for our requested work.  He was super easy going and easy to work with.  All of our projects were completed on time.  The hardwood flooring refinishing is just beautiful, they did a wonderful job.  It was also easy to explain to Tom what specific items I wanted for our doors (I have very specific taste) and he did all he could to make sure I got what I wanted.  Some of the pricing came in over estimate but that was simply because we did not know all of our doorways would need custom sized doors.  Tom explained that to me when I asked him about the difference in price.  Overall I was very pleased with the work that was done and would suggest Total Home Solution to others for any home remodeling needs.

"The kitchen was completed gutted and rebuilt within 3 weeks. Matt worked with us on every aspect of the remodel and addressed everything we had on our wish list. On all the projects Matt and his people were here every day until the work was completed to our satisfaction. When they left each day the work site was spotless. We have been happy to recommend MNB Renovations to our friends and family and plan on having Matt back when we are ready for our next project(s)."

"Steve and Mike were so professional and absolutely came through for our basement remodel/ construction. They were very flexible, detail oriented, went above and beyond to make us happy and most of all reliable. We made a few changes on the go, and Mike and Steve were so accommodating to that! I cannot say enough wonderful things about their work! We look forward to working with them in the future for other home projects."

"We hired Mitch and Bob to finish our basement. They gave us a good and through estimate. Mitch made a couple visits prior to starting the job to make sure we were comfortable with the design, layout and timeline and was very open to suggestions. What is great is that they only take up one job at a time and are committed to it. They were on a consistent schedule. The quality of the job is excellent and everything was very collaborative. Would definitely hire them again if needed and recommend to others. They also took care of many smaller requests we had during the time they finished our basement. They were professional and reasonably priced for the excellent quality of work they did and extremely reliable. Thanks Mitch and Bob!"

Gregory Clarke here, practitioner of various handcrafts. Carpentry among them.\n\nI started building as an actual apprentice, doing the construction equivalents of kitchen work - dicing and slicing and stirring and plating and taking orders. Mop and bucket work. Sponge work. Back when the most popular musical listening device was a Walkman and it was the latest greatest thing. If you’re counting fingers, trying to figure out how long ago that was, you’re out of fingers.\n\nI did that and I eventually became chief, cook, and bottle washer. I build things and fix shit. No excuses.\n\nIn addition to being an Angi Pro, we operate building materials wholesale from Allenwood Building Supplies.\n\nOur Process start with a call, and then maybe a zoom... and we go from there.\nMr. Clarke has been building homes, additions, crafting commercial and residential interiors for over 30 years.

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Perkiomenville, PA

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
