Mike worked efficiently completing the demolition of the previous stairs and railing in one day. He identified and corrected structural deficiencies from the previous construction and completed the remodel and finish work within the time he originally stated it would take to complete the job. He was even able to stay on-budget with the exception of the additional repairs identified during demolition. Even then, he discussed any changes early and found effective solutions that didn’t significantly increase the cost of completing the work. "After a severe wind storm that ripped off roof shingles which allowed rain into my kitchen, a friend referred me to Nyboer Builders. Jay, the owner, came to assess the situation and counseled us on different ways to tackle the issue. He also came several times to oversee and make sure things were going right once the project was in progress. In the beginning, as the demolish unfolded, they found an area that was previously done improperly and wasn't to code. Knowing it was a hazard to our family, he made sure to call in a structural engineer to fix the framing and roofing matter. He kindly worked with us since the insurance company wouldn't cover it due to it being a skylight issue where the former owner cut trusses. It was an unexpected additional $1200 and with our large family, he was willing to do a payment plan. No fault to the Nyboer Builders Company this part of the project extended the length of the project, which bumped our date to getting things done. However, Nyboer Builders returned immediately to finish the project and did a superb job. All my neighbors thought we were remodeling and came to peek in. Everyone of them (6) were impressed with the kitchen ceiling remodel and the paint job that was done.
