"I had two garage doors, opener, and tracks installed two and a half years ago. One of the garage doors had the bracket snap when my daughter opened it. When I looked at the other door, I saw the bracket had been installed upside down and had been cut so there was only 1/8" of metal (Pics attached) It's no wonder it broke! I called and eventually got a call back from the "Manager" I asked him to come out and fix it, and he told me that it was only a 1 year warranty and since it was out of warranty he would have to charge me full price for the materials and labor. I asked if he was ok with such a crap a** job and he told me it was company policy and they usually don't install like that anymore since the company was purchased. I asked him to email me his policy and he promised he would.... of course he sent nothing. It's ironic that the company is named Door Works, since eventually you will end up with a door that doesn't."

JR recommended a torsion spring slightly longer than the original installed by the builder. The reason was that the original had snapped after only three years, and while it could have been defective, the thought was that a spring slightly larger than that recommended by the manufacturer would create a better system. He also explained to me that there was no reason to replace the other at this point and that there would be no future savings in the case I did, that I would be charged the same now as later since the second diagnostic fee would be waived. Angel performed the installation. The consummate pro, he was extremely careful and exacting in all aspects of the job. Naturally, he made certain that the tension for both the new right torsion spring and the old left torsion spring was the same. A line is drawn across the length of the torsion springs so that the rotations can be measured. Angel also answered my questions as he completed the different stages of the work. I highly recommend Angel and JR. $350: an RHS-mounted torsion spring (225 30" 2") $75: diagnostic Tax Total: $460.00"
