"From start to finish, we could not be happier with choosing Paradigm. Our basement needed a lot of work-- waterproofing, new sewer pipe, and new water heater with power vent. Andy and Ross took the time to answer our many questions prior to starting the work. Their whole team was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. You won't find better customer service!"

"A1 Handyman & Plumbing Services saved my house. I moved into a home built in 1925 and after three months noticed an open, leaking pipe in the basement ceiling. Water was pouring out of it, to provide a more accurate description. Sean from A1 came to the house. He investigated the leaking pipe further and discovered not only serious plumbing issues (multiple pipes connected to the same main drainage pipe) but also an abandoned oil tank was hidden behind the drywall; the consequences of neglect and thriftiness from the previous owners. The huge tank made it impossible to reroute the pipes properly. Sean removed the oil tank, ripped up the subfloor, and reorganized the pipes correctly. The inspector had failed to see this issue and the previous owners did not disclose it. Sean's honesty and professionalism was a blessing and a nice change of a pace from my homeowning experience to date. He's a plumbing guru as far as I'm concerned, not to mention a gifted problem solver. I've hired him again for a different issue and will continue to do so when needed in the future."

"The company replied quickly and gave an estimate as requested. We were quoted for 2 new shut offs and 3-5 replacement shut offs. The plumber only brought 5 fittings, but he gave me the option to run to Home Depot to get more... I was also instructed to replace a hose which wasn?t leaking until after the repair, but it was easily fixed when I suggested to connect the new hose to the pipe rather than to the leaking hose. Sharkbite valves were installed. If I knew they were going to be used, I would have done the work myself. The plumber was proficient with the Sharkbites, I just expected that a pro plumbing company would solder. When the plumber left, there were no leaks, and I didn?t feel like making an issue of the other 2 valves which I wanted installed."

"I am more than pleased with Aqua Plumbing. First of all they immediately responded to my project request to arrange a visit. Vince and Mike are cordial and very competent professionals. I needed work on my heating system equipment (gas boiler). They were able to do the work right away. They also bled and refilled all the radiators and installed a new shut off on the water line. I felt the price was very reasonable. Above all they are the nicest guys I have had the pleasure of meeting. I will hire them again for certain if I need their help with another project."

"We could not be happier with choosing Unique Indoor Comfort for our new HVAC system. We found this company by being referred by a client of my husbands. The original duct work in our house was extremely undersized, over working our unit and not creating good airflow to reach the third floor of our town home. Reni came out to our home, and took the time to explain to me options with Unique to really make our new HVAC unit/system efficient and comfortable temperatures in our house. I really appreciated his kindness and patience with me with all my questions. Unique was able to get us scheduled within a week or finalizing the contract, just in time in end of April when the first heat wave hit. It has been almost two months now since Henry and Matt installed our new HVAC system (they both were friendly and did an excellent job) and we are truly enjoying it. With a new baby in the house, it is a relief to have this new unit and ability to cool down our house quickly and efficiently. I know it is a lot interviewing and getting quotes from different HVAC companies - it is a big investment. This company truly stood out for us and were able to work with our budget and our needs for our home. They were the only company who proposed how we could add an additional vent to allow more airflow, and to redo the duct work to the proper sizing for our house and up to code. We are very grateful and HIGHLY recommend Unique. Thank you Reni, Matt and Henry again!"

"They do the exact work that they say they will do. One time shortly after they had came and worked on my plumbing, a pipe broke and they fixed it for free. I will continue to use them because I stick to who I like and trust. They have very nice employees."

"On the price, I don't, but it was also reasonable. They had also installed a water heater like a year before, reasonable. For sure they're a good service provider, any issues I have with the HVAC or my water system, I'll go to them. They clean up behind themselves; I don't have to do much."

"Roman and Shane did a great job replacing the 17+ feet of large heater pipe which was corroded badly. They also replaced some of the smaller vertical sections and junctions, which really made the repair so much more complete and presentable. Though honestly, I thought the prices were kinda high, the pantry sink fixture is beautifully done and the 3rd floor toilet was neatly replaced and both function perfectly, In order to repair the first floor shower, they had to break through tile and sheetrock in the next room for pipe access. They did a VERY neat job, especially getting through the tile, and left all of the removed tile intact in case we ever need them. All of the other jobs they performed throughout the rest of our almost 120-year-old home were completed efficiently and neatly. As an aside, This was not our first encounter with Roman. 17 years-or-so ago, while he was working with another company, he played a most impressive role in the beautiful remodel of our master bathroom, which had - and STILL HAS - a very intricately designed tile pattern, which Roman dissected piece-by-piece and then meticulously restored with all of the old-world skill, charm and caring attention to detail that the original builders put into it - maybe even BETTER! So ****-yeah, ask for Roman! :-)"

"Initially I was only looking for replacing a tub that covered an old cast iron tub. The installers for Luxury Bath, Anthony along with Justin worked together with precision and you could tell they take pride in their work. I ultimately ended up with a beautiful remodel of my bathing area. I have upper body impairments. To accommodate me safety bars were installed with a chair anchored to the back wall. The shower hardware was installed low enough for my impairment and all new plumbing accompanied the replacement. I’m very happy with the quality of the installation. I highly recommend."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Philadelphia, PA

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
