"Last year 1st Response did an application to my house to control ants. By November I had ants in my basement and by February they were in my kitchen. After I called a man showed up and, after seeing that I had a patio, said that patios are where ants live and no wonder I had an ant problem. He said that they have a spray that they use on patios but didn't use it last year. He said he'd make a note to apply it this year which had me wondering why they didn't use the spray in the first place knowing that my patio is where ants live. Go figure. He did put out a poison and we haven't seen any ants since. Thank goodness for the "guarantee.""

"I am currently renting. The Owner of the Rental where I am staying located Chris Witmer’s Website ~ Buckeye Wildlife Solutions ~ Myself and the Owner of the rental wanted specialists in this area that could successfully remove the animal, have the expertise to fully assess our unique situation and to successfully remove the animal without any harm coming to the animal. I contacted This business late in the day and was highly relieved and impressed that they contacted me after “normal business hours”. They responded quickly and were very kind and efficient with their communication ~ They had highly Educated responses to my questions and concerns. They had a previous obligation the following day, but assured me that they would be able to come after this obligation to address the bat situation in my home. They were highly efficient in their communication with me and with their follow through regarding their plans to come to my home the following day, after their scheduled obligation. They completely followed through with the plan set to come to my home for the bat removal, with no interference schedule wise. They were highly professional. They knew precisely how to assess and handle the situation. They successfully removed the bat without any harm to the animal, and were highly conscientious of care to my home where the bat needed to be removed from. It was a great feeling to work with a business of such high Integrity! They took the time to assess my immediate home and also took the time to assess the entire building and surroundings of my home location. Their thoroughness was Impeccable! I was also highly Impressed with Their Genuine Kindness and with their Professional Work Ethic and Overall Demeanor. Chris and Dylan could not have been more of Proper Gentlemen. From the beginning of the process ~ Our Initial phone and text conversations ~ to the completion of the Project. I Highly Recommend Buckeye Wildlife Solutions!"

"Mice problem in 4400 sq ft of attic; they removed all insulation then disinfected and sanitized the area. Installed new thermal, acoustical, and pest control insulation. Inspected and sealed any exterior entry points. Also included food traps. Josh and his team are fantastic, very professional. They communicate at every step of the way. Cleaned up at the end of every work day. Would 100% hire them again."

FAQs for bird and bat pest control service projects in Pickerington, OH

You're likely to find nesting birds in external areas such as your gutters, eaves, porches, and chimneys. Some birds also nest in less obvious spots, like attics or even in your ventilation systems if they gain access. A reputable pro will conduct an inspection before starting any work to check for evidence of where birds may have set up roosting or nesting sites in your home.

Leaving birds to roost and nest on your home creates significant risks that affect both your home's structure and your well-being. The constant droppings, aggressive swooping, and persistent noise can damage siding, allow moisture intrusion, and stain exterior finishes. In addition, the birds’ pecking and droppings can spread diseases and parasites, which can lead to escalating repair costs and health hazards.

Yes, humane removal is possible and ensures that birds remain unharmed during the extraction process. Experts use proven methods to safely capture and relocate both birds and their nests to secure environments. Professionals employ stainless steel spikes as a deterrent while avoiding harmful techniques such as poisons or glue traps. You can rely on trusted specialists who strictly use safe, noninjurious methods, thereby protecting the birds while resolving the nuisance.

Yes, there are legal considerations when removing birds and their nests. You must adhere to strict local and state regulations, which safeguard protected native species during nesting season. Special authorization is required to remove protected birds, their nests, or eggs under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Observing these legal mandates avoids violations and ensures safe, responsible removal.

To prevent birds from returning after nest removal, you can implement deterrent methods. Installing stainless steel spikes creates a secure barrier that prevents birds from roosting without causing injury. In contrast, loose nets may entangle birds and other wildlife, creating additional hazards. A trusted professional will choose and install the optimal method to keep your home bird-free.

A bird’s nest remains viable for a period that depends on the species. The construction phase concludes within 2 days to 3 weeks, followed by a rearing stage lasting 2 to 10 weeks. Most birds become fully independent within 2 to 6 weeks, while certain predatory species require up to 2 1/2 months. This timeline can guide you on when it's safe to intervene.
