"I posted my project on Angi after business hours and David called within minutes. After a quick conversation with David, he dispatched Gayle for the following morning. Gayle showed up when expected and quickly diagnosed the issue. He offered two solutions and discussed the risk/benefits of both. I really like that he didn't push for a major component replacement as the only solution. I'm extremely DIY and this is my first time hiring a professional of any trade other than medical professionals. These guys have my trust and my endorsement."

"Itâ s really hard to find great professionals, and we are tough graders. That said: we give a full endorsement to Mitch and his business. He was professional, thorough, timely, had perfect communication, and he actually went beyond his scope of work and found other safety items that we were not aware of that we deeply appreciated him bringing to our attention. We have him now as our air conditioning and heating maintenance and repair team for our Denton properties."

"Our AC went out yesterday evening and this morning at 7:30am my sister called an AC repairmen, Legacy Air Heating & Cooling, they answered the phone right away, made the appt for 10-12 today! Repairman showed up on time, fixed the clogged drain, checked the unit over, and told us a price, then finished fixing the problem, unit was low on freon, and then went into the attic to see if any ductwork was loose or off of the ceiling vents. Josh is a very professional serviceman. Best AC Repair experience I have ever had! "

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Pilot Point, TX

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
