"Nate, Jason and the electricians that worked with them were fantastic! I couldn’t be happier with their service. They installed a new heat pump and central A/C for me, and were punctual, professional and efficient. They explained the work they were doing so that I understood what was going on, and even identified some potential issues that I hadn’t noticed. I’m glad I went with Hunt’s, and they’ll definitely be my first choice for HVAC moving forward."

"Five yrs of living in this house, using a different company each yr for my HVAC annual service and each year no one could reduce the noise from my AC fan in the backyard or better say no one acknowledged that the noise level us just too high. So, we grew accustomed to it over the years and thought of the noise as a negative externality or as the price to pay to have a livable space during those hot summer days. Seatown technician, Brian, took extra time to fix the noise issue and at the end, I still paid the same original price that I was quoted. Also I should mention that Brian was on time and courteous of the property. Unlike other past services, Brian took photos of all the serial numbers and part numbers pertaining to the system I have and send them to me electronically in a PDF format, making it easy to use for future references. I am glad that my five year quest to find a knowledgable company with reasonable service fees has come to an end. I highly recommend to hire Seatown and see for yourself whether my assessment is true or false. Thank you Seatown staff for a job well done. You got me as another continuing client for any of my electrical, heating and cooling needs in the future."

"Worked with Greenwood Heating and Air on a furnace replacement and only have excellent things to say about the company and team. Customer service, pricing, timeliness, thoroughness, and friendliness were top notch. Contacted them initially for an inspection of our 28-year old furnace. The technician Frej was prompt, thorough, and courteous, explaining in detail the issues we might face with this still working but old units. Based on the findings we reached out for a quote on a system replacement. Lori took diligent care in listening to our concerns and hopes for a new system, recommending systems that might work for our household. She was always available for follow-up questions, providing answers that really helped us decide on getting a new system (Trane XC80 furnace with air scrubber) via Greenwood H+A. Prices were fair, on par with expectations and quotes from other businesses. On the day of the install, the team at Greenwood H+A, including Jake, Jordan, and Jason were very flexible, coordinating with the roofing company we had hired to take down our chimney and replace with a vent, to get the project moving on time. They were all very communicative, which we appreciated, and gave us regular updates on the progress. They finished what seemed like a big job within the day, despite the install occurring in our cramped crawl space. Our house is now toasty warm again with a great new furnace and all the bells and whistles. Would definitely recommend them for similar job, including for custom requirements as was our case with the roof. Thanks!"

"The repair work went well. It required two trips out because when the technician arrived, the furnace fired up perfectly. Tech spent about 45-60 minutes trouble shooting various possible causes and came up with two most likely suspects: control circuit-board and gas switch. After discussing with me, he left and did not bill me. When the furnace failed again two days later, he returned and I ultimately decided to replace both potential bad-actors. That has been about three weeks ago and the furnace is operating fine."

"It went well. They came out on a Sunday afternoon (of course it was more expensive because it was the weekend and their emergency hours). They completed the repair, and then checked over our furnace while they were there. We also signed up for a reduced rate for a yearly servicing of the furnace. We then called back and had them service our air-conditioning unit and signed up for a reduced rate for yearly servicing. Very professional."

"We initially had difficulty getting in contact with Air Pros, which is why they only got a B for responsiveness. Once we established contact, a planner came out and gave us detailed information on the system we wanted. They installed the furnace on time and very professionally. They also upgraded our air filtration system and thermostat. We are very satisfied with the work that Air Pros did. We would definitely use them again if we need the services or equipment they provide."

"I have found my go-to plumbing company for life. I an astounded by how great the service was in dealing with Harts Services. From my initial phone call with customer service, to the updates I received from texts and emails on when the plumber was arriving was surprising and great. The plumber who responded was Ryan Johnson and he was EXCELLENT! Great personality and work ethic. He explained everything he was going to check and fix and did it! He was respectful of my house and fixed both of the drain issues I was having with a great smile on his face. Ryan is a great credit to Harts Services and as I told him that they have a new regular customer for life! The price for the work was very reasonable and all explained to me before he started the work. There was no trip fee or hourly rate it was all cost per the job. That was real good news. I highly recommend Hart's Plumbing and really appreciate Ryan Johnson exceptional service!!"

"I entered a project in Angi for an annual furnace service. Eli at Project Air called within one minute. He said he could squeeze us before his next appointment or at any time that was convenient. He arrived within 30 minutes. He discovered the original installer had incorrectly wired the control board which decreased efficiency and rewired it. He showed me some meter readings and explained our furnace was in good condition. He taught me how to better clean our electronic filter. There were no extra charges beyond the original quote. He was fast, clean, knowledgeable, and did not try to hard-sell like the last guy. I absolutely will call this company again."

FAQs for central a/c service or repair projects in Seattle, WA

A condenser fan motor is a crucial part of your air conditioner that prevents the compressor from overheating. It pulls heat from your AC unit to cool the refrigerant moving through the condenser coils. This allows your system to blow cool air and keeps everything running smoothly.

The most common causes of AC fan motor failure include loss of lubricant in the system due to overheating and a rusted or leaking run capacitor. Poor lubrication can also cause failure in the belt drive, which may impact the AC fan motor. Weather and electrical components can also affect your AC. For example, a storm could send water into your motor windings and damage the internal components.

Air conditioner fan motors last about 12 years on average, though they can last longer if maintained well. This includes keeping them clean and cooled as needed with annual air conditioner checkups. Routine maintenance is essential to catch AC fan issues early. An HVAC inspection can cost between $70 and $500, while AC cleaning services may range from $100 to $400.

A broken AC fan motor may need replacement because this part usually can’t be repaired. Several things indicate it’s time to replace your AC fan motor, including buzzing noises, a constantly running fan, unusually high energy bills, or an aging system. If you notice these signs, call an HVAC pro for help before the faulty motor starts to strain other parts of the AC system.

There are clear warning signs of a bad AC fan motor, including unusual interruptions in the fan operation. The motor might be malfunctioning if you hear weird noises like grinding or rattling or if the fan continues to spin when the unit is off. These indicators compromise your AC’s cooling performance and increase your energy costs. Addressing these issues immediately by contacting a trusted HVAC professional prevents further damage and safeguards your HVAC's efficiency.

Replacing your AC fan motor takes a professional one to four hours. The technician will start by assessing your system and safely removing the damaged motor. If a new part needs to be ordered, it might take a few days. Once the part is available, your pro will install it properly and make sure your system is running smoothly.
