"I went with this company and they did not disappoint. They worked within my timeframe, under short notice, and unloaded a 20 ft U-haul very quickly. I was worried about getting a very wide couch down my narrow stairs into my basement, but they just popped some doors off and back on and made it look easy. 10/10 would hire them again."

"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"I continue to be impressed with the service from Lane's Appliance Repair. The latest repair was on our KitchenAid dishwasher. Brian D was the repair tech. He is knowledgable, efficient, and professional. In this case, the factory had shipped a wrong part and so Brian had to return a few days later to complete the job. Brian always puts protective covers on his shoes and this time, due to the COVID-19 virus, he also put on a clean pair of gloves before beginning the repair. I find the labor charges to be reasonable. Bottom line, I recommend them very highly."

"Kevon and Doc solved a complicated chimney/fireplace issues at our home a few years ago. Our chimney had been built incorrectly and we replaced our gas insert. We couldn't have been happier to have their expertise. We have continued to use to maintain the sealed gas insert they replaced. They are knowledgeable, honest and reliable."

"I hired Lakeside to install a water heater in Ann Arbor in 2024. Their quote was about $400 higher than a competitor, but I chose them because I was told they could complete the job six days earlier. The water heater model was selected by a Lakeside technician during a paid visit to the property. However, on installation day, I was informed that the selected tank would not fit and a more expensive model had to be ordered. More importantly, after the installation, the required permits did not pass final inspection in time. During a City of Ann Arbor rental inspection, I was informed that the final inspection had not been completed, and I was unable to obtain the required certificate. As a result, I had to pay a $500 fine. In 2026, the unit required repair. I was informed that the issue appeared related to improper installation (including dissimilar metals in contact, leading to corrosion). Lakeside did not stand behind their work, and I had to pay for the repair."

"This is the first online review I've ever written -- my experience with this company was that bad. Three aspects that deserve attention: 1) I placed an order and tried to cancel six minutes later. Turns out they don't accept cancellations. 2) I couldn't find a phone number, so I had to work the return/refund by email. The exchange was painful -- so unhelpful I felt like I was interacting with a bad chatbot. 3) I ended up eating shipping costs (expected) and got hit for a 50% restocking fee (unexpected) because I refused the package instead of paying to ship it back. Didn't matter that it went to the correct address, was clearly labeled, and had prior return authorization. So I ended up with a $21 refund on a $60 order, and a lesson learned about where not to buy appliance parts."

"Wow. I called D&R to get someone to look at the HVAC in a home we bought two years ago. It has not been giving us adequate heating in the new extension that was built in 2008. The installation manager came out and spent about two hours and looked at everything possible. After looking into the entire system he found that the previous owner did not have the correct thermostat installed and it did not allow for the 2nd stage of the furnace to kick in. He also determined the thermostat was in the worst location possible to give an accurate reading of the whole house temperature. He set up an appointment for his men to come out today, 2-8-20. Two men came out and ran a new thermostat from the center of the house (as I stated above, the old one was in one end of the house which not only was the wrong thermostat but it did not allow for a accurate temperature to be recorded for the furnace to kick on). They had a heck of a time because the new addition had no basement like the original part of the home. They ran the new wiring threw the wall, down to the crawl space and into the basement to the furnace. They also rerouted one of the HVAC ducts in one room to give me better heating in a bathroom. Then they did an entire check on the system to ensure that the 2nd stage was kicking in properly, and they also found they needed to adjust the gas regulator (not sure of the correct terminology). Folks, they did a great job, really great. Here are two take-always. First, the installation manager could have given me a song and a dance and replaced many things and cost many thousands of dollars and I would not have known the different. However, he was honest and gave me accurate information. Second, the two workers today could have screwed around and taken their time as I was paying by the hour, they could have cost me an arm and a leg, but they got the job done, they did not take one break and worked the entire time (Trust me, I watched). I am definitely going to sign up for their program where they come out and check the system twice a year and give discounts if you are a member. I cannot get over the fact of how honest, knowledge, they were, let alone their fair and honest pricking. I did not dream we could get the system fixed for what we paid."
