We decided to go with him because we needed a new soft water loop installed, and he was the only contractor who proposed an alternate path to getting to the unit in the garage (our water service entry is on the opposite side of the house from the garage). Plus, his data showed that his product is superior to the competition we were looking at. We did strongly recommend that he get "blue stake" certifications completed in advance of the installation, because the lines were to be buried in the ground, but he assured us that it wouldn't be necessary. So we scheduled the installation and then, after Herman spent a couple of hours trying to dig, learned that it would be necessary to use a trencher. This ultimately led to getting the blue stake certifications that we had suggested in the first place, and caused several days' delay for everyone. Herman, the installer, was always prompt, and polite, though less than friendly and evidently not well-accustomed to working in the heat. The product is great, and the price is very competitive, but we would encourage Frank and Herman to err on the side of caution and seek blue stake clearances any time the customer's project involves digging more than a few inches with a hand tool."
