"Sears Home Improvement Products have washers and fittings to repair washing machines and such. The staff seem real knowledgeable and they were friendly with my son when my son was asking the sort of questions he asks everyone! The pricing is reasonable."

"Difficult job - in hind-sight, both doors should have been replaced. Original bid was for replacement of one of the doors and repair of the other.  The repairman decided to attempt repair of both doors.

"Greg spent a lot of time with us in the planning phase and had some great ideas that we incorporated into the plan. He had a very tight timeline and got this huge project done in less than 2 months. All the contractors that he hired for the floors, cabinets, and painting were professional and expert craftsman. We are just thrilled with the results. We had a boring 70's split level, and now we have a modern open floor plan great room that looks like a picture from a magazine! Greg and his partner Ben are really great to work with - friendly and honest and very good at their craft. I was very impressed that he guaranteed his original estimate. We spent a lot of money but we doubled the value of our home and everything is high quality. Honestly, the change was so dramatic that I entered a "Better Homes and Gardens" remodeling contest! (Still waiting to hear back on that!)"

"We wanted to replace just the kitchen cabinets because they were outdated and we wanted something new.
After talking to Dmitriy, he offered us to get rid of the wall that was standing in between the living room and the kitchen.
One of the best decisions we have made regarding that remodel.
The whole living space right away felt much more open and spacious."

FAQs for cabinets repair projects in Plato, MN

The timeframe for kitchen cabinet removal varies significantly based on quantity and installation complexity. Professional contractors typically complete standard kitchens within 4 to 8 hours, though complicated configurations involving plumbing or electrical components may extend to 1 to 2 days. Homeowners tackling this as a DIY project should allocate substantially more time—often 1 to 3 full days—as careful extraction requires methodical work to prevent property damage.

Kitchen cabinets can indeed be salvaged for reuse when removed carefully. Construction material significantly impacts success rates—hardwood cabinets generally survive extraction better than composite materials, which tend to chip or break. For optimal preservation, document the original layout, remove doors and hardware first, then methodically detach units from walls and adjacent cabinets. Professional removal significantly increases the likelihood of successful cabinet preservation.

Disposal options for kitchen cabinets depend largely on their condition and your local waste management regulations. Cabinets in reasonable condition might find new homes through donation centers or online marketplaces. For damaged units, professional waste removal services offer convenience, while dumpster rentals provide flexibility for larger projects. Some municipalities offer special collection services for bulky items, though advance scheduling is typically required.

Wall damage during cabinet removal represents a legitimate concern for many homeowners. The risk varies based on installation methods—cabinets attached directly to drywall without backing supports pose greater challenges than properly mounted units. Professional removal minimizes damage through specialized techniques and appropriate tools. Even with careful extraction, expect some minor wall repairs. Older installations and homes with plaster walls require particularly delicate handling to prevent significant damage.
