"We've hired Mike Sergio and the Affordable Kitchen and Bath Refacing team 3 times over the past 10 years and they continue to be the best contractors for Kitchen and Bath refacing. Mike is friendly, honest, and professional. Our kitchen and bathroom were completed in an efficient and quality manner at a very reasonable cost. Mike is very thorough in explaining the work involved, shows up as scheduled and cleans up after the work is done. I would hire Mike Sergio and the Affordable Kitchen and Bath team again and if you want your job done right at a reasonable cost, you should too!"

"Excellent. Dave came out to give us an estimate and described our situation as a "hot mess". He spent a lot of time going over what needed to be done. He called his crew chief to discuss the job and sent me a work order later that day describing the job."

"I’ve hired Soso Remodeling for various projects over the years, including kitchens, bathrooms, decks, and porches, and I’ve never been disappointed with Octavian's workmanship. Each project required different materials like ceramic, porcelain, marble, quartzite, and other natural stones, along with unique layouts, and Octavian has handled everything with expertise. Communication has always been clear from the start, which ensures there are no misunderstandings or issues during the project. I’ve always been impressed by the quality of his work, his attention to detail, and his ability to adapt to the specific needs of each job. I’ll definitely hire Octavian again and highly recommend his services to anyone looking for quality remodeling work!"

"Just wrapped up a pool deck and pool resurfacing project with Ross Services. I’ve managed my fair share of much larger commercial construction projects so I’m well aware of the quality and performance spectrum one might encounter with any contractor. I can honestly say that I don’t remember a project that went this smoothly. Joel was a pleasure to deal with, his crew knew the assignment and executed well, and they were all responsive when I had questions or suggestions about the project. I don’t expect any issues now that the project is done but if something did come up,I am very confident that Joel will make it right. A great experience overall and would definitely hire them again."

"Excellent! Larry designed a perfect layout for our house. He knows the soil, grading conditions, and plants to use and is easy to work with, answering all our questions. He removed all the old landscaping as needed, included the trees we wanted to keep in his design, re-did the sprinkler system to water the new plants, and explained everything as he went along. We will continue to use his services. He is the ultimate professional."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Pompano Beach, FL

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
