"I called Summit Environmental Services, Inc, (after I had worked with another company that I had received a referral from through Home Advisor). I spoke with Jeff, the owner of Summit and told him the problems that I was having. He called someone who was already out working in the field. Jordan came to our house that afternoon and took the needed samples. Stated that he would get the results of the samples early the next week. He also spoke to another person referred by them for mold remediation. That person spoke with us and stated that as soon as he got the results, he would do what was necessary to remove the mold. I am so grateful for this company. They saved me time and stress that another company had caused. If I could give them a 10 rating, I definitely would."

"They came out quickly and gave us an estimate to remediate mold in our crawlspace. Within a few days they returned to spray and fog under our house. They were very thorough and did testing to make sure that our problem was remedied. Their technician, Lane, was professional and great to work with!"

"Tried to hire Andy Simms (owner) to do our home inspection as he came highly recommended. Unfortunately he was out of town. We then did hire him on 8/1 for our Radon test after purchasing the home. He was very professional and answered all of my questions. He even took some time to look at a couple of house concerns I had that the other Home Inspector missed. His partner returned after 2 days to remove the Radon monitor and gave me the results right then. I also received an email report the following business day with the results and a copy of my paid invoice. <br /> <br />Hired again on 8/27 to do our Air Quality test for mold. Again, very professional and knowledgable.....and HONEST. We had had water in our basement and Service Master had dried it out. He told me I should check with them to see if they did any sort of Air Quality test when they were there before I hire him, no need to pay him if Service Master did the test. Most companies would come out and do the test to make $$. Turned out Service Master didn't. <br /> <br />I will use Summit Inspections for any type of inspection I need in the future and will recommend to everyone! <br /> <br /> <br />"

"PuroClean showed up and began immediately to dry the damage floors. They also worked with our insurance company helping them understand the damage caused by the leak in a very short time, like less than a week. They were professional and provided Value for the their work including drying the damp areas from below the floor and above removing the possibility of a mold issue."

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Poplar Bluff, MO

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
