Efren (the owner) was able to fully understand the work required and also suggested additional modifications; some requiring no additional cost which made quite a difference to the appearance and functionality of the units. It was quite evident that he was extremely knowledgeable on all types of challenges and knew exactly how they should be handled which he was able to explain to me in the simplest terms. The company employees some of the most skilled people in the trade in all areas of demolition, construction, painting, and plumbing and I was amazed how well and quickly they were able to complete all the work. Eric (Forman/Project manager) is without a doubt one of the most experienced hands-on people you can have involved and managing the team. Most importantly – as with any project regardless of magnitude, you will experience unforeseen circumstances and require immediate attention and Efren was on-site (usually multiple times) every single day to monitor and update me on the progress and most importantly he would answer his phone every single time I called and address any concerns immediately. After an extremely successful basement renovation a few years ago, he and his team were the only people we wanted to tackle the work. If at any point you had a question or were unsure about how something was coming out (which is common with any remodel) he has a way of assuring you, and is open to reworking things until they are to your standard. His experience also makes him a terrific sounding board to discuss ideas and possibilities before endeavoring to begin a project that may have implications that you havent considered. He is not the most expensive contractor you will find, but he offers the best value of any that we have worked with in the past. Because of that positive experience, I asked Matt and the team to do a complete house gut reno in 2022-23. Before I finalized purchase of my house, I first had Matt come by to give me a scope and estimate. This was a big job that lasted over a year during which time we were living in the house. All of the workers are highly skilled, responsible, communicative, attentive, and a pleasure to work with. "We live in a prewar coop building in Manhattan and were in need of a kitchen, living and dining room/den renovation. Because of the limitations in our building, we were not optimistic that many changes could be made that would dramatically alter the feel/function of the space. Inson Wood proved us completely wrong. With his architectural eye and his impeccable design aesthetic we (and everyone who has been here before and after) experiences our apartment as an entirely different living space. Even family members are shocked at the transformation. I think that what Inson accomplished was the product of a few significant factors. First, Inson asks you what you want and seriously considers how you live. If Inson thinks that different approaches should be considered for what you want, he provides renderings of each option so that you can easily visualize and imagine them. Ultimately, Inson respects your preferences and works with them, elevating them to a level far above what you had imagined. Inson uses the highest quality vendors (whom we NEVER would have found) and expertly guides you through choices (note: follow his recommendations!!!)- our walls would never have had dimension and our kitchen backsplash never have been so unique (two examples) if not for the artisans that Inson uses. Inson is also willing to have you be as much or as little involved in the process as you want to be. I did go with Inson to choose many pieces of furniture but realized after a certain point that his taste point made me confident in him choosing much finishing work (ex: window treatments, decorative cushions, which I love) without me. As with all design work, there are always glitches and Inson was extremely responsive and responsible for taking care of those as they came up. We are nothing less than thrilled to come home each evening and enjoy our space, which feels like a luxurious retreat perfectly tailored to us."
