"Prompt response… very professional! I have been without a sink for two weeks, called a few companies and no follow up.. Tejadas was able to fit me in right away.. they were at my home on time and did a great job cutting my granite countertop and positioned my sink to get installed by the plumber… I would definitely hire them again for any future jobs"

"We have had considerable work done on our home over the past year and our experience with Dennis and Mark was by far the very best. They arrived on time, both have a wonderful work ethic and attention to detail. The tile work done by Dave is perfect. The pricing was very fair for the job which included totally gutting and replacing the flooring, tile, removing a fiberglass shower and replacing with a beautiful tiled shower, installing new vanity, toilet, etc. We also had exterior window sill and trim work done. My only regret is that we didn't have A & D do all the renovations in our home. I would highly recommend and would look no further should we do any more home projects."

"Overall experience, from visiting their site to select the granite, scheduling the template and countertop installation, and the installation itself was positive. Installers were very conscientious in their work"

"We had gotten a very high quote from a national chain for a kitchen makeover. We contacted Eric and his quote was much more in line with our budget. He did an amazing job and is a talented builder. He even did some extras like wiring a light and switch, installing an over the range microwave and putting up wainscoating in the dining room. We highly recommend Eric and Superior Refinishing Solutions"

"Barry and Billie did an exceptional job installing kitchen cabinets and crown molding. The job necessitated many custom modifications. They rose to the occasion and completed everything with great expertise. They were reasonable and exceeded my expectations. "I had Avellino Construction put down a new floor in the bathroom, install a new toilet, paint the laundry area, replace the front entry door and install two storm doors. Nick and Gina were both professional and easy to communicate with and they completed the job right on schedule. They both had great attention to detail and always kept the job site cleaned up. They did a fantastic job and I am very pleased with everything. I highly recommend."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Porter, ME

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
