Customers say: Quality work

"<p>We met with Justin from Wells Septic.  He and his assistants took a look at the area of concern, trying to assess the possible reasons that might be causing this area to stay muddy.  They were the second set of eyes to look at the area, because we first had our irrigation system company see if it was caused by a leak.  Irrigation leaks were ruled out.  </p> <p>Jason and Sebastian looked in the downspouts with special equipment, pulled back the sod, prodded with iron rods and checked the water meter to make sure something wasn't  causing the water to run.  We live on a spring-fed lake, so we thought perhaps the water had found its way a little further into the property. </p> <p>Jason mentioned that they had previously had a customer with a wet area in the yard that appeared right behind their deck.  They could not determine the source of the water there either.  They had resolved that issue by installing a French drain.  So,  we decided that would be the first attempt at a solution to get this area dry.   </p> <p>Jason and Sebastian and another employee hand dug the area about two feet down in the shape of a T.  They surrounded the specialized pipe with gravel and replaced as much sod as they could.  At the time, the sod was very wet and heavy.  It was very likely difficult to handle, so they covered the area the best they could.  A couple of weeks later, they returned to reshape the area better once the ground had dried out.  </p> <p>As I write, the area is not only dry, but it is ready for our commercial mower to continue to take care of the yard without fear of losing his equipment in the bog!   </p> <p>Wells Septic was very responsive and we appreciate they were experienced and able to solve the problem.  We would certainly call them again and would recommend them for similar work.  <br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"Mr Plumber Josh arrived, we talked about the problem. He told me how much the job would cost. It was high at $202.94 but I told him it needed to be done. He went to his van for appropriate tools, cleaned the drain, snaked the pipe, cleaned up. I paid him and he left, job completed in about 1/2 hour. I see ads on tv (channel 10tv) all the time for drain cleaning at $95.00. The company runs this ad constantly on tv YET I was not offered nor told this was the amount I'd be charged. This struck me odd that I was charged then as much as I was. My work was done on a Thursday. The immediate Monday morning there was the same ad for $95.00. I immediately called Mr Rooter Plumbing to ask why I paid $202 when they advertise same job at $95.00. I was finally put in touch with a gentleman (Mark) at the company who told me it was up to me to MENTION their ad that runs all the time on tv. They do not offer it. Bottom line, he is refunding me the difference as he said my job was a $95.00 job. I told him I appreciated the refund and that I'd be watching for their refund check to get to me in the mail. Word to the wise here - if you choose to use this company for drain cleaning, MENTION THE $95.00 AD that they RUN ON TV. My point, if this is the price they CONSISTANTLY advertise, it is my opinion that THEY NEED TO HONOR IT without forcing the consumer to mention it."

"This company is wonderful. They provided a complimentary service visit to see if our drain pipe was working properly. We noticed some water collecting near the pipe after a heavy rain. Lamar was kind, prompt & honest. He flushed our drain with our garden hose and it turned out the blockage was excess leaves. He suggested their service that has a camera attached to see how the pipe looked (overall) and to see if there was any more blockage. But considering our garden hose was able to remove the blockage we have opted to wait and he agreed that was a safe bet. We appreciate honesty & integrity."

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Powell, OH

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
