"Our CPVC house piping had a lot of water hammer. After turning on the washing machine, I walked out for a moment, and then when I came back in water was dripping from the ceiling exhaust fan onto the washing machine. We have a two story house and they ran the hot water plumbing from the water heater in the garage through the laundry room ceiling. I removed the exhaust fan and could see water dripping from a tee way back beyond reach. The water hammer from the washer likely caused the fitting to start leaking. I turned the house water supply off and sent a message to Simpson plumbing through Angie's list. A lady from Simpson plumbing contacted me right away the next morning. She was courteous, but was having a hard time understanding what the problem was. Maybe I was giving too much information or something, but when the plumbers arrived later that afternoon they didn't understand what was going on. I ran through what happened again and showed them the wet spot on the ceiling. They had to cut an opening in the ceiling and we turned the water on and confirmed the leak. We moved my washing machine out of their way and they cut out the CPVC tee and replaced it with PEX. The piping was brittle so it took him a couple of attempts to get a straight cut which is why I called them to mess with it. After installing the PEX tee, we were leak free and at my request they provided a reference for the drywall repair. He also advised getting some water hammer arrestors installed on the supply lines to the washing machine to stop the water hammer, which I have since done."

"We highly recommend this company! We couldn't be happier to have found such a capable company as Ecowater. They were not only prompt, thorough and clear on our initial water diagnosis but they helped to educate us as well. Aaron, in Sales, was extremely good. Part water geek part doctor he seemed genuinely interested in helping us end our water troubles, such as the orange gooey scourge that had been plaguing our system and preventing us from comfortably enjoying a shower or a simple drink. His diagnosis was spot on and we now have amazing water and being a rural property, this is important because finding competent service people let alone ones that want a long term relationship is difficult for most but as a rural home it is compounded in that most don't wish to go beyond the initial visit. Ecowater stressed that their commitment went beyond our install and offered automatic send services for our supplies which we find a smart service for our needs.

On install day, Dave and Ryan came. They were again prompt, thorough and clear on what they were going to do offering to answer any questions. They were methodical and courteous. We needed a large stainless steel holding tank filled with standing water emptied in our pump house, and though the pipe burst on Ryan showering him and the pump house with goodness knows what it was done. So that we could finally drink our water we had a reverse osmosis system installed and it by far is worth every dime because we now have the best drinking water and can stop buying bottled. The savings is huge. Our water to our fridge proved another challenge when it wouldn't work after it was connected. Dave troubleshot it as best he could but the brand was not one he was familiar with and I couldn't find the manual to assist so the decision was made to call/email in a couple of days to see if it cleared up it didn't. Now it should be noted that Ecowater chose to forgo installing the manufacturers filter parts for their own which in the end became the reason it didn't work but no worries, they fixed it! I emailed Aaron the manual downloaded from the manufacturers site and he and Dave combed it for answers even phoning French Canadian Customer Service on our behalf - now I ask what company does this? Ecowater could teach other companies about what great customer service and support looks like because they are and quot;itand quot;. A few days later, Aaron and Dave emailed us to come out with a solution to our problem. We scheduled a visit and poof! done the original equipment was installed and we now have perfect water at our fridge and ice too! Finally, Aaron gave us a free product to clean our water ring stains - it worked beautifully for sinks and shower areas. We can't thank Ecowater enough!! Great folks!

"The fix is working, and the experience was great.  Not that anybody enjoys water leaks and having their basement torn up, but Q and his crew did an excellent job in troubleshooting the problem and coming up with a cost-effective permanent solution to a long-standing problem.  The price was very reasonable for the amount of work that was done, and the communication all throughout the project was excellent - I always knew what was going on and appraised of any changes to the work order as they happened.  The crew was extremely respectful of my house and kept it clean as they worked, and cleaned up very well when they were finished.  All in all, I would highly recommend this company.

"We contacted Boones Ferry after receiving a very high estimate from the electrical sub our contractor was planning to use. Neil came out within a couple of days to give us a bid and we opted to go with Boones Ferry, largely because its price was lower and was a number the company was willing to live with (a bid as opposed to an estimate). The hourly rate we would be charged for any out of scope items was also substantially lower than the hourly rate quoted by the other company. The work went very well overall. The electricians who completed the work -- Todd and Isaac -- worked steadily and skillfully for days and were generally pleasant, easy to communicate with and responsive. One drawback: We explicitly asked that they ask us about preferences for how things should be done (switch locations, say) any time they were in doubt and a couple of times work had to be redone (mostly at their expense) because this didn't always happen. Near the start of the project, we also had a drill bit come up through the living room floor as they were drilling a joist in the basement. Fortunately the hardwood floors were to be refinished afterwards, so the repair was easy and pretty much free. Todd brought the damage to our attention, was very apologetic about it, and assured us that they would take steps to make sure this didn't happen again. This involved our contractor opening up more of a trench in the ceiling of the room being refinished in the basement so that a flexible drill bit would not have to be used. Twice during the initial rough-in period, Neil came in to answer our concerns about how specific work would be done, such as whether or not key joists would have to be drilled to get the new electrical service into the house. Neil was great to work with each time we needed help. He listened to our concerns and then deftly arrived at a solution that met everybody's needs. In a couple of instances when small mistakes were made, he also agreed readily to solve the problem. His knowledge, communications skills, and customer-service approach throughout the project made a huge difference to us during what was often a hectic and stressful time. When the work was all over and it was time for invoices, the extra charges submitted for the few changes in scope were minor and fair."

"Went well to this point of replacing parts. Then the United needed to have a system leak test and then needed freon put in pump. This was refused by Choice warranty. We were left with a partial repair and a heat pump not able to do it's job."

"Fair. Couldn't find part and didn't contact me. I reached out to them and they said they would replace. Still waiting for that call. I continue to use them, I've been a customer for many years, because when they are good, they are great. They have repaired many things for us over the years and we are generally pleased with their vendors."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Rainier, OR

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
