"Devon was very conscientious and reworked spots on my fence that weren’t up to his standards. A great job on my storm damaged fence and shutters. Great work!"

"I worked with them before and was very pleased with them then. The owner is very good. He is very fair and good about getting back with you and showing up on time. The guys that came to do the work were unbelievable. They were patient and were perfectionists. They did a wonderful job. They came back on their own time because there were some complications. Something needed to be taken back, but there were no hassles. The guys came back at night and worked an additional 3 hours and then came back this morning to finish up the work when they were technically off the clock. They were very pleasant about it and did a wonderful job. They were good about cleaning up after themselves and calling to let us know they were coming or giving us any information. I would have no problem working with them again and would recommend them. If there are any problems, the owner is good about fixing them."

"Here's the good, the bad and the ugly. Bob spent a lot of time answering my questions and was very thorough on the initial consultation. Pricing was comprable to three other estimates I received during that time but wasn't the lowest. Here's the good: We decided to go with a pre-selected shingle that wasn't in stock with Bob's suppliers but he did find a local supplier that had just enough on hand at the last minute. He passed along only the small upcharge for the more expensive shingle. Installation quality seems descent. Shingle overhang is nice and even and visually looks very neat. Bob said he would give us extra winterguard rapping on the back edge of roof for no extra cost due to the amount of soffit overhang. I was especially impressed when his team supervisor actually fixed a problem caused by the previous roofer repair and did not charge me for it. The bad: 1. After a long wait time to begin work I seem to keep getting longer, there was another two-week start delayed due to the supervisor having problems with his truck. During this time the weather turning cold and icy. 2. I asked Bob if he would supervise the job but he said he is not on the job sites but that I can trust his team supervisor who has been with him for over 20 years. So I did. When I came home from work one day the waste dumpster was parked right in front of my garage doors. Someone assumed that I would not need to get in and out of the garage. That was a very bad assumption because my wife is a fall risk and needs to park inside the garage. This was in December and the driveway was becoming icy. The dumpster was moved promptly to the proper spot but no one contacted me to ask me where I wanted it located in the first place. 3. During installation Bob and I walked around to look at the progress and I noticed the roof paper was torn on a corner of the garage. He said his team would make it right before shingling over it. The Ugly. On the final walk-through Bob told me that a deck railing post cap was damaged from his team's work. This was not a big deal and the post cap was only $10. But he did not have the damaged cap nor was it found anywhere. I think his team threw it away. More likely this was a diversion for much more damaged railing that I did not find until the spring because the snow was falling during the final walk through. See the attached pictures. There are scratches, scuff marks, and tar marks on three six foot spans of railing that were not there before. My neck is relatively new. The scratches and scuff marks on the railing match the angle at which they threw off old pieces of shingle that hit the railing. I sent the pictures to Bob along with the itemized replacement cost of all the railing pieces. Total was $174. This was the first week in April when the snow and ice was finally all gone and I was out on the deck and noticed it. To date Bob has not responded. Just be aware of what you're getting into with this contractor and if you're willing to risk the bad and the ugly for the good. I will not recommend Northeast Ohio Renovations to any of my friends or relatives. That's a big price to pay for $174."

"We use Jaime for everything now, for new work and to fix others' mistakes. Had Jaime remove attic ladder that was installed improperly and install new. Also had him set up a model railroading plywood top, custom fit in basement."

"They painted the front porch no problem and looked great. However the back fence in the contract stated "power wash, prime, and stain". Well, they power washed, and then put a "primer and paint in one" on, just one coat, and it looked awful. My wife called me incredibly upset saying it looked terrible, and we have the pictures to prove it. The painters said we were only getting one coat and if we wanted another coat it was going to cost more.
Furious, I called the person who did the estimate, sent him the pictures, and he understood what was happening and directed the crew to apply the second coat, as the contract said they would do. I was so angry that I had to take time to make them do what the contact said they would do. No one would have ever looked at their finished product after one coat and said "well, that's done and it looks great, glad our name is on it." They were perfectly willing to leave with it looking terrible. This is why I rated them so low on professionalism.
In the end, things did work out, the quality of the final product was good, the manager was responsive and did the right thing, but the crew that came out couldn't have cared less. On the review here it asks if I would use them again, and I wish there was a "maybe". I think if we do use them again, I'll have to take a vacation day off work and supervise them closely to see that they do exactly what the agreed upon contract states."

"The pad was great, but the storage bags for the pad and/or additional leaf was cheap and not the correct size. They tear and do not cover the whole pad."

"I removed old carpet and padding from the living and dining rooms. The hardwood flooring had beautiful grain and character, but also a lot of damage. Some of the wood grain was raised and there were a lot of stains, some of which were black. I thought it might be a lost cause, but contacted Teppo Interiors through Angie's List for an opinion on refinishing and an estimate.
Kevin Teppo described the process and what results I could realistically expect. It wasn't a lost cause, but it would not be like new either. He was more optimistic about the results than I. He pointed out the crack in the ceiling and that there was no quarter-round on the woodwork, both of which his crew could take care of. There was no pressure to sign or up-selling. I appreciated that.
They were able to start on the job earlier than expected, which was perfect. I removed everything from both rooms.
Evening before sanding: They taped and plastered the ceiling crack. I applied two coats of paint. That was not expected of me but I had the time. It was one less thing for them to do the next morning.
Day 1: Three man crew arrived on time, sanded the floors and applied the walnut stain. I was warned about the fumes, so I boarded my dog for this time frame. The doorways were sealed with plastic to keep the fumes contained as well as possible.
Day 2-4: Sanding and a coat of polyurethane, 3 coats total. The crew arrived on time and were very efficient and polite.
Day 5: Quarter-round was installed. They moved the dining room table and TV stand back into the rooms. Job complete.

"I want to start off by saying that Rich is an extremely nice, pleasant, and respectful guy. I also want to say that he probably did not anticipate having to do some of the work he did when replacing the sliding door (i.e. purchase and install new trim, mud walls, etc...), and lost money on the job. He had also repaired the holes in the ceiling and wall for free. -When he came over to give the estimate, I asked him if the carpet would need to be stretched once the sliding door was replaced. He said "No." After the door was replaced, there was a 1-inch gap where the subfloor was exposed. He then indicated that a transition piece of some type could be placed over the gap. I would have liked to know up front prior to installation that there was the possibility a transition piece might be needed. In all fairness, my question was not explicit enough. If a transition piece is placed over the exposed subfloor, then the carpet would not need to be stretched, right? -One of the days he was working at my house FedEx came to pick up a package. FedEx erroneously came to my house-I did not have a package for them to pick up. I don't know if FedEx rang my doorbell and Rich answered the door or if Rich was outside the house when FedEx came. Long story short, when FedEx came to the house, Rich gave FedEx another package that happened to be in my foyer, which was not supposed to be picked up by FedEx. I assume partial responsibility because FedEx previously came to my house erroneously and I called the appropriate people (or so I thought) to communicate that there was no package to pick up. I should have warned Rich that FedEx might be stopping by and there was no package to pick up. FedEx is also responsible because once Rich communicated to FedEx that he was not the home owner, the conversation should have ended there and FedEx should have left. The FedEx guy was pushy, saw the package in the foyer, and insisted to Rich that he had to take that specific package, so Rich gave it to him. I understand that Rich was trying to be helpful, but he should have pushed back and commented that since he was not the homeowner, he would not give the package to FedEx. -At first glance after the door was installed, trim replaced, and walls around the trim mudded, I thought it looked great and I communicated that to him. When I took a closer look...: ----A couple of nails were not flush and bent into the wood. I had to pull these out, which ended up gauging the wood. I corrected the issues with wood filler. ----My existing trim in the room is painted white and no grain is visible through the paint. He used oak trim around the door, which is great if the trim was going to be stained. Oak is not the best choice if the trim is going to be painted, unless one has the personnel preference of being able to see the grain through the paint. It sticks out like a soar thumb to me. I think applying some type of gloss might smooth it out, but then painting over the gloss, even if primer is used, may not turn out so well (i.e. the paint will chip off). He did use a pre-primed pine baseboard though. ----One of the side pieces of trim is not long enough and a large gap is visible. I purchased another piece of trim to replace the short one. I just have to get around to doing it. ----When he applied mud on the walls near the trim, mud was caked all over the side of the trim, which I spent 30 minutes chipping off. I would have expected the trim to be covered or "protected" in some way so this did not happen. I thought that was kind of sloppy. ----Once the large hole in my ceiling was repaired, adjacent areas were mudded. Unfortunately, some of these adjacent areas had caulk on them, which should have been removed first before mud was applied. The mud was applied over the caulk."
