"I've had Rick out to my house twice to quote me for siding. I have found him to be very honest and have the most intregrity of the 3-4 for siding contractors that have come out to quote me. The first time he came out he recommended I find a handyman to repair my existing siding. He was of the opinion that we could buy ourselves a few more years with the repair work of a good handyman and then re-side down the road. I planned on taking advice until we found mold and my wife became concerned that there was mold behind out siding. I asked RIcked to come back out and quote me for vinyl siding, gutters, and aluminum trim. He gave me the best quote of any other siding contractor. He also really made me feel like I could trust the work and quality of A-1. We are still undecided if we will reside this year or a few years down the road but when we do we will almost certainly go with A-1 Roofing and Siding"

"I REALLY liked the salesperson that we bought it from. HE was excellent. When there was a glitch with our siding order, he came back out to check things out. HOWEVER, the guy who put up our siding was not real particular. He cut off our gutters when they were to be removed and re-hung. I AM pleased that the company replaced them without any hassle. The siding was over hanging the gables. It wasn't until we said something that he fixed it. That was the overall problem. Unless we caught a problem, it would have remained. While it might be our house itself, the siding installment is not what I'd consider "A". I don't think that I should be the one pointing out mistakes and getting them fixed. I think that they should have just been fixed. I'm glad that the guy was nice. But the end result was not installed like we had pictured."

"We started off by having Bill's crew come to seal the basement floor. The estimate was about what I was expecting to pay, and boy -- did we get our money's worth! The concrete was in worse shape than they thought, and Bill and his team spent a lot of time making my floor smooth and new-- far newer than a 100 year old home should have! We did hit a hiccup when I came home to a fair amount of dust all over my house-- Bill made that right, too, without making me beg, cry or swear. Beyond the skill and finished product, it is worth noting that getting an estimate, getting a contract, getting work started and completed -- all of that happened in a timely, professional manner. They were very thoughtful of my home, my cats, my bathroom. Because that went so well and finished on time, we got to talking about having the fieldstone walls addressed as the mortar had been repaired (poorly) over the years, and was turning to dust in other areas. He gave us a quote that we couldn't resist, and brought the team back just a day later to start working on the walls. The stone has never looked better-- I would argue that it looks artistic, just beautifully mortared and sealed so that it will always make the colors of the stone shine. Being a caring craftsman, Bill also took care of other extraneous details -- he painted drain caps to match the floor (even though we bought them well after that work was completed). He also painted our 9 basement window frames and a rather eye sore-like door that stood out amongst the beauty of the work he'd done. All in all, Bill and his team are kind, diligent, efficient, artistic, thoughtful, thorough, timely and committed. We have a long list for his crew in the years to come."

"Arrived on time.  Agreed ahead of time to bring materials and I would reimburse cost.  Reviewed the areas for repair.  Repaired two small areas of sheetrock ceiling, taped it, mudded it, sprayed with popcorn surface.  Taped sheetrock joints on patio ceiling. Worked fairly efficiently.  I purchased two hours of labor. He made no comment that it might take longer than two hours.  At the two hour point he wasn't finished.  At the two hour point I said the two hours is up, now what do we do?  He said it might take an additional hour.  I agreed and he said the rate would be $50 per hour. He finished at 3 hours and 20 minutes.  The original package was $99.  I paid an additional $128 for the additional time and materials.  Several times he pointed out things that needed additional work.  Not a bad technique to drive up the bill, but I turned down his suggestions.  Did use a drop cloth when he sprayed the popcorn, but all the other work did not use a dropcloth and  left residue on the floor.  Left us a couple hours of work to clean up the mess, but I wasn't going to pay for additional time to clean up the mess.
