"I needed asbestos removed from my kitchen floors, and Mohammad identified that removing the subfloor would be the quickest and best way to do it (which also addressed some water damage in the subfloor). I was quoted a reasonable amount for the work done, and he did the job for that amount and in the timeframe he expected. My kitchen is now asbestos-free and I was able to install a new overlay subfloor and new flooring! Couldn't be happier with the job he did."

"Ed and his wife provided excellent service with a recent asbestos abatement in my home. They are very hardworking and went above and beyond by also getting to the bottom of a suspected mold issue in the house. After discovering there was mold in the walls and taking the samples for testing, black molds (stachybotrus and chaetomeum) were confirmed. Highly recommend… without Ed’s involvement in identifying the source and type of the toxic molds, I would still be suffering with a mold allergy which was making me very ill. I’ve also never had a contractor clean up so well before (literally not a trace he was ever in the home). I had a need for some additional support and Ed always is available to get on a call to assist in anyway he can and is very knowledgeable. Thank you so much for everything you did to ensure my health was top priority."

"I had a worry about some asbestos pipe insulation and the inspector Jason called me within minutes of requesting quotes on here. He was already in the area and came to look at the problem, was able to diagnose the situation quickly, answered all my questions and even looked at a couple of other things that might have needed attention. Fortunately, I didn't need any professional removal, but if everyone at A & I is as quick and knowledgeable as Jason then they'd have my business 100%. "

At DUCTZ of NOVA we take pride in giving you the best air duct, dryer vent and carpet cleaning services available. Cleaning your ducts and carpets in your home and/or business the right way, the first time is our top priority. At DUCTZ we make sure that you are getting the services you not only expect but you deserve. Quality customer services is only one of our many professional goals, we strictly adhere to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association Standards as well as the Environmental Protection Agency standards and EPA checklist.\n \nYour air ducts can become a major source of indoor air pollution. Every time you run your heating and cooling system, airborne contaminants build up inside the ductwork, creating a breeding ground for mold, bacteria, fungi, and other microbes. These contaminants can also significantly decrease the efficiency of your heating or cooling system.\n\nAir duct cleaning is a proactive solution to these problems. It can enhance the indoor quality of your home or business, eliminate build-up dirt and contaminants, and extend the life of your heating and cooling systems.\n \nCommercial or residential dryer vents are cleaned periodically to reduce the risk of fire. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that in 1998, clothes dryers were associated with 15,600 fires, resulting in 20 deaths and 370 injuries. Fires can occur when lint builds up in the dryer or in the exhaust ductwork. Lint can block the flow of air, cause excessive heat build-up, and result in a fire in some dryers.\n \nCarpet cleaning can improve the appearance of your home and extend the life of your carpet, but perhaps the most valuable benefit from the process is improving you and your family’s health. According to the American Lung Association, if members of your household suffer from conditions that can affect their breathing, such as snoring or asthma, it’s especially crucial that you vacuum your carpets at least three times a week. Beyond vacuuming regularly, you may also benefit from having your carpets professionally cleaned at least once a year. If you’re not fully convinced of the benefits of professional carpet cleaning, consider the following top three ways the process leads to a healthier home; Carpet cleaning eliminates trapped pollutants, carpet cleaning can clear out dust mite infestations, and carpet cleaning can help prevent mold growth.\nDBA- A D S Group Inc\nAdditional phone number- 1-866-963-8289

FAQs for asbestos abatement projects in Richmond, VA

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring mineral fibers once commonly used in building materials because of their resistance to heat, electricity, and corrosion. However, in 1975, research confirmed that these fibers cause mesothelioma and other cancers, leading to strict usage laws. If your home contains asbestos, removing it can prevent long-term health effects. You'll often find asbestos in the flooring, ceilings, pipes, and roofing of homes built before the 1990s. Common asbestos-containing materials include vermiculite insulation, vinyl flooring, millboard, and corrugated roofing. If you suspect you have asbestos or any of these materials in your home, it's important to hire a reputable abatement company to perform testing.

Currently, there is no federal licensing mandate for asbestos removal contractors. However, certain cities and states require certification and specialized training. For example, in some areas, contractors handling asbestos must receive an Asbestos Handler Certification. Be sure to check your local laws to ensure any contractor you hire meets the necessary requirements.

Homes constructed before the 1990s can conceal asbestos within building materials, and testing provides a definitive answer. You should have your home tested by a certified asbestos inspection service. This professional evaluation identifies hazardous materials and determines whether removal or encapsulation is necessary. Testing safeguards your family’s health and supports smart budgeting for remediation.

Federal law does not require you to disclose the presence of asbestos when selling your home. However, certain states and local jurisdictions impose disclosure regulations that you must follow. Testing and professional remediation confirm that hazardous materials are properly managed. This proactive approach not only meets legal requirements but also protects your property’s value and buyer health.

Asbestos removal affects a home’s resale value because hazardous materials can deter potential buyers. Having toxic substances present lowers buyer confidence and may reduce the property’s value by 1% to 15% if not addressed. Professional remediation ensures safety standards are met and preserves marketability, protecting your long-term investment.

Grants exist at both federal and state levels to support asbestos testing and removal projects. Local housing programs may also offer financial assistance when asbestos is discovered during home repairs. Meeting certification and testing standards is required to secure these funds, which help to manage overall project costs while ensuring safe remediation.
