"First off, John is amazing. He'd been out to my house a year before to help with this bathtub.
This time, after calling him, he showed up within an hour. He thought the problem might be the tub drain and suggested replacing it - a simple and non-invasive repair. He admitted it might be something harder, such as the tub trap, but that would involve cutting a hole in the downstairs ceiling to reach the pipes. He wanted to avoid that, and so I agreed to start with replacing the accessible drain components. He sent one of his guys out the next night, working around my family's crazy work schedule. The drain was replaced and tested, but later that night it started leaking again. I called John and he apologized and committed to coming back out the next night, saying he would likely have to cut into the ceiling for the repair.
True to his word, he came right out the next night. He cut two small holes in the ceiling, quickly identified the problem, and fixed the pipes. We talked about repairing the ceiling, and since I prefer to do that kind of work myself, he walked me through EXACTLY what type of materials I need and EXACTLY how to do the repair. I plan on getting that done this weekend.
I cannot sing this man's praises enough. I've never worked with any repair person / contractor who is so nice, understanding, and communicative about the work. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs plumbing work. I keep his card handy just in case something comes up, because I know he will respond promptly and offer high quality service. Thanks again John!!

"The job went very smoothly. Todd came by on a Friday and swapped out the hardware. Rico came on Saturday and re-glazed the tub. It looked great. About 10 days later, there was a definite problem with some of the caulking around the tub. Todd came out the same day I called and re-caulked the problem area. Dealing with Charlie over the phone was a pleasure. I would highly recommend this company, and will definitely do business with them again."

"Mr. Fama had not remembered or written down the appointment time and so came to my house before I got home. Once that was straightened out, he worked very hard to remove my old stubborn faucet and installed my new one. He made sure that it was installed correctly and there were no leaks."

"Fidel is fantastic. He was able to match paint colors, suggested & used the right products to prevent the problem (mold from steamy bathrooms) and did a beautiful paint job. Treated, cleaned, painted in 2 days with 2 assistants. We ran into an unforseen obstacle, my bathroom fans were not hooked to vents. He gave me guidance on purchasing fans & brought his electrician in for correct installation. Because of an issue in my ceiling, we cannot vent through the walls as planned. He was going to use HVAC suggestions to vent through the roof, but he stopped & called some experts who told him that I could suffer leaks if I don't use a skilled roofer. We will have a roofer do the vents. Fidel only charged me for the work done. He'll come back to install fans after that."

"Made initial appointment 5 days in advance. On the appointment day, I phoned early afternoon to hear that my repairs had not been scheduled. Plumbers then arrived within the next hour, or so. Fixed leaking valve leading to the main line, and "snaked" bathroom sink. Took photos of tub/shower valves to order a replacement unit and gave an initial price estimate $240). After 10 days, never received a return phone call. Called office to receive a return phone calls explaining that part had not been ordered, and that there was an estimate of $625 to install a new valve unit."

"I initially called Shaffer Plumbing and a Plumber came out to assess the situation. We were told that our cold water line was leaking and our old water heater needed to be replaced. The Plumber 1st repaired the leak and replaced valve. As we supplied the water heater the Plumber returned a few days later, installed the new water heater, cleaned up beautifully and removed the old water at no additional charge!!"

"Dan had great ideas for improving our kitchen. I have a small kitchen, but then it is extended with a breezeway that was enclosed a long time ago. It always seemed so chopped up, but Dan found a way to connect the two rooms better. He directed us in a way so that now we have a beautiful kitchen. Dan has many great ideas. He was always extremely responsive when we had questions. The crew was courteous and detail oriented. We love the materials and colors of our new kitchen, and it seems much bigger. I highly recommend American Kitchen Concepts for kitchen renovation."

"Dean replaced both hose bibs in the front and rear of my home with two new internal cut off valves and external valves. They have been leaking for some time. At first, Dean thought the job would be a little more involved [and cost more], but his expertise allowed him to replace the valves without having to perform additional work or cut out more of the ceiling and honor his orginal quote. He did a great job and his apprentice was very polite and knowledgeable. They kept the work areas covered with a tarp and everything was clean at the end of the job. Well done! If you have plumbing needs, I recommend using Dean!
Extra note. I always hear how plumbers are so expensive. Dean was at our house today for a little over two hours. Keep in mind they have to pay for their equipment, vehicles, insurance, travel time, supplies used on the job, salaries of employees, and other expenses to run a company. Not to mention you're getting years of experience to perform a job I would surely screw up or take weeks to finish. I can do a lot of things in my home, but when it comes to complicated plumbing, leave it to the professionals and support small businesses.
