"Roberto from Doctor Pavers came by to give an estimate for or garage floor to be dug up and re-cemented. The pricing came in where we felt comfortable. We were told the job would take 3 days. His crew came by when he told me they would, arrived on time and completed the job on time. We could not be happier with the end result. We will use them in the future if we have other projects."

"Looks MUCH better. The only disappointment is that the filling of the large cracks can be seen through the seal coating. It reminds me of the first coat of paint on a new wall and the taping and spackling still shows through."

"I made a great choice with hiring Anthony to repair the brick on my townhouse after replacing two windows and moving a door on our back extension. He was responsive and easy to schedule with. Took ownership of the job and helped solve a roof leak that my roofer wasn’t exactly on top of. He made a recommendation for capping the cornice and he was able to add this to the project easily and at a fair price. Anthony takes a lot of pride in his work and he did a lot of it himself instead of just dropping off a crew at multiple job sites. He asked me questions on how I wanted things done and was very generous with his knowledge and experience. He was very respectful and never talked down or “mainsplained”. He addressed one small issue that came up with my neighbor. I will definitely be hiring him again as my house needs exterior work."

"Our 1925 corner lot building needed immediate repairs. The metal cornice and it’s existing paint was flaking away and few cracks and dings. Innovation team came and scraped away all loose paints. They have also used bondo for all holes and cracks on the cornice. The primer was applied and then final coat took place. The color and their final finish was amazing! Thanks Innovation."

"The owner gave a reasonable estimate and the employee did a professional job. During the inspection I pointed out some areas I thought should be given added flashing and he did it immediately with no complaints. Overall, excellent experience and I would highly recommend him."

"The facade of my brownstone was deteriorating and I was looking for someone to restore the facade.  The search for the right company took almost a year as it was very important to me that the work would be top notch and that the restoration would be true to the original work.  Excellent contracting came highly recommended and a relative of mine who is a developer also had used them with great success. <br /> The work took about 6 months to complete.  They were very professional and addressed all my concerns.  They also made sure that my tenants were not too inconvenienced by the project.  The facade work was very professionally done with great attention to details.  Many of my neighbors came to tell me how impressed they were with the work and one suggested installing flood lights on the face of the facade to highlight the details (although I am sure my tenants would have an issue with lights going up the facade and into their windows). <br /> Overall I am very happy with the work that they have done.  It has held very well so far and I would not hesitate hiring them. <br />"

"There was a chimney leak in or apartment and the entire apt was covered in soot and smoke. The problem was so bad we moved out. Once the chimney was repaired. We called Steven from SHS based on his great ratings on Angie's list. They came in on Monday cleaned up all the soot & smoke damage. Then began the process of priming and painting. The apartment was painted to perfection for a very low price. The floors were striped, sanded sealed in polyurethane, our apartment has never looked better. Steven helped with great designs for the apartment, the wallpaper and paints. We are so pleased with the finished product, the price, and mostly the high level of service Steven and his crew provided for us. We are back in our apartment & are loving it!"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Ridgewood, NY

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
