Small jobs welcome

"Jim was very professional in his initial and follow-up contacts leading up to the project. He provided a complete estimate, gave good advice on material purchases and was responsive to my scheduling needs. We did have to work around some of Jim's family activities but he gave me plenty of prior notice and was flexible with me in rescheduling work days. On the job, Jim and his partner were very task oriented, aways appropriate in behavior and punctual. Again, any changes in schedule were communicated in advance. The work site was cleaned each day. I would hire him again without reservations."

"From the very beginning the owner Matt Stowell was very professional and listened to all of the things that we were looking to accomplish with our finished basement.  Matt was very knowledgable and open to many different options and made us feel comfortable that no job would be too big.  After the project was set, Matt brought in his team and we were very impressed with the quality of work and the friendliness of his staff.  They also always listened to any concerns we had(which was a lot) and were always willing to go the extra step to ensure we were getting the service that we were looking for.  On a large scale project such as ours there were many challenges, changes, and other obstacles along the way, but Matt and his team always handled everything with ease and was always quick to take care of any issues that arose.  The quality of work is to be commended and Matt was always making sure we satisfied with all of the work.  I could not ask for a better looking new finished basement as Maumee River Remodeling has exceeded our expectations from a customer standpoint.  I would definitely recommend them to anyone that is looking for a top notch quality remodeling company at a top notch price as well!

FAQs for wood stairs and railings installation and replacement projects in Riga, MI

A pro can set an attic ladder in two to four hours, including framing adjustments and finish work. Complex installs—like cutting a brand-new opening or trimming joists—land toward the high end of that window. Tackle the job yourself and plan on a full day, plus an extra pair of hands, since one mis-measurement can slow everything down.

Local building codes drive this decision. If your ceiling has a fire-rating requirement, the ladder must match it to maintain that protective barrier. A rated unit slows flame spread between the attic and living space, buying valuable evacuation time and limiting damage.

Because codes vary by city and even by neighborhood, check with the permitting office or ask your contractor before you order the ladder.

Aluminum ladders are light, rust-proof, and easy to maneuver, making them a practical choice for most households. Wood models handle higher weight loads and can match traditional trim if aesthetics top your list, but they’re heavier and need occasional upkeep.

Compare the ladder’s duty rating, your ceiling height, and how often you’ll use it. The best option is the one that balances safety, convenience, and the look you want without stretching the budget.
