"Great from start. Arnold is great to deal with in salesroom. Roland measured & explained how the job would be done, Jamie laid the floor and baseboard. Done in 2 days. Jamie really talented and kept me updated via text throughout process. Baseboards are especially nice. He does beautiful rounded corners. Very custom looking. Love the Vinyl Plank Floors from Shaw."

"Pretty well. Cesar and his crew are masters at drywall repair and matching texture pattern. The work took a week which was little longer than originally expected but we added some items to the list. After the crew was finished painting and left, we noticed some spots that were missed (hard to see except in the morning light). Cesar was more than happy to come and fix the problem in a very timely manner. Cesar wanted to make sure we were happy with the job and went out of his way to make it all good."

"We couldn't be more pleased, they did an absolutely beautiful job. Dana met with us on Saturday and the crown molding was installed the following Thursday. Our home in Sun City West was pre-owned and had crown molding in the living/dining room that had been installed by the previous owners and a different company. We wanted iCrown to install crown molding in our kitchen/family room. I called them last week and the crown molding is already installed. Dana, the owner, is extremely personable, professional and efficient. They even repaired a bad joint in the living room. I can recommend them without hesitation and will definitely call them the next time we need work done.

"Bought the list for a painter for a day and then sent a message saying I would need an additional day.  He said he would send two painters that same day. That was fine with me.  I needed to have ceiling, trim, and walls painted in master bathroom and toilet closet.  He did a great job.  Told him do as much as he can in the time he has.  He got 95% of it done.  Just didn't do the trim around two of the doors.  I didn't think he would paint the doors, but he did.  That was great since we hate painting the doors it takes a long time.  He did a great job and worked hard.  Jorge was working in the kitchen and family room. We just remolded so had new floors, new counter tops and redone cabinets.  He did a great job to not get paint on anything.  He was able to get it all done in the time allowed and did a great job.  When he was done he was asking anything else.  So I had a bunch of touch ups around the house he took care of for me.  I got a quote for another job doing the entry way, hallway, and stairs with very high ceilings.  So they will be back.  Thanks for a great job.  I love the color.

"Ed, the Tech arrived on time, inspected old (17 yr) opener that was not working and found that the motherboard, or the whole unit, would need to be replaced. Decided that after 17 years of use, it would be better to replace the old unit. Ed installed Liftmaster 8365 Premium Series 1/2HP AC Motor with 7' Chain Rail and tuned the rollers"

"Gary and his team were extremely easy to work with; they were professional and friendly. We changed our plan (and the estimate) several times without issue (Gary was very flexible). Work began almost immediately, and moved along in a timely fashion; however, we had some special-order materials in our project, and the project took longer than expected because we had to wait for the materials to arrive. They reversed the swing on two of our existing doors, so we didn't have to purchase new doors (or waste the old ones). There is no indication whatsoever that they had done that - the work the carpenter performed was exemplary. We had some complicated wiring involved in the project, as well - the electrician seemed to handle it easily (and everything works as desired). They even encountered an issue with our air handler that was complicated, and they were able to resolve the issue as if it had never occurred. We did encounter some issues after the project was completed, but Gary responded immediately and ensured that the issues were resolved. Finally, we were not charged extra due to any of the surprises that arose during the project. I would recommend GBP Contracting to anyone who is considering remodeling.

"Very well. An old-style tub was removed, and in its place CKBR designed an installed a modern spa-like shower. We also replaced the carpeted bathroom with tile, put in new cabinets and lighting, and added a marble countertop."

FAQs for wood stairs and railings installation and replacement projects in Rio Verde, AZ

Pressure-treated lumber is the most inexpensive deck railing material. It's a cost-effective option that offers a good balance of durability and affordability for budget-conscious homeowners. Pressure-treated wood meets essential safety standards while keeping upfront costs low. In contrast, vinyl, polyurethane, and composite materials tend to be more expensive but offer additional aesthetic and maintenance benefits.

To calculate how much deck railing you need, measure the length of all the edges of your deck where railings are required (excluding any openings or areas bordered by the house). Since precise measurements are crucial, it's a good idea to hire a professional. Contractors have the expertise to accurately measure and install your deck railings.

In most cases, safety standards require railings on steps with more than four risers, steps wider than 44 inches, and decks over 30 inches high, measured from the next level down.

Railings should also be between 34 and 38 inches tall. Regulations can vary based on your location, so it's important to check your local building codes or consult a local contractor. There are also rules about the size of the gaps between pickets and between the bottom of the railing and the deck.

Before installing a railing on your front porch, you'll need to check local permitting requirements. Local building authorities may have specific codes that require a permit—or, in some cases, no permit at all. Reviewing your city's guidelines and consulting a qualified professional will help ensure your project meets all legal and safety standards, preventing any unexpected issues during inspections.

Deciding whether to repair or replace your deck railings depends on the extent of the damage and whether you can match new materials to the old ones. If you have minor issues, repair might be an option. However, when it's challenging to match existing materials, replacing the railings can give your deck a fresh start and reset its lifespan. A decking expert can assess your railings and recommend the best course of action to improve safety and maintain a cohesive look.
