Customers say: Quality work

"We are very pleased with the results. The old steps had to be removed with a jackhammer and the blocks removed and then the whole lot replaced. Mike Kinsley and his crew showed up when they said they would and did an excellent job of removing the old steps/blocks and replacing them. This took a lot of concrete framing. We also had the old aluminum railings replaced with new plastic railings. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend Kinsley Construction. This was not the first large project for which we've hired Kinsley Construction. The first was a new roof and siding, then remodeling a basement and upgrading bathrooms. Highly recommended."

"They did our basement right before Christmas. They did a fantastic job. They even helped me remove an old well pump that was in the way of their work. They were very professional and punctual. In the picture that shows the Pipe coming down the wall Water use to seep up through the floor there and over in the corner where the sump pump pit is in the corner it would actually run down the wall that is no longer happening. As you can see in the one picture the amount of water that was coming in as they were working was not a good thing as it had not rained in about a week."

"They installed steel beams on a wall that bowed inward in our basement garage after carbon fiber straps we had another company install several years ago failed. We are VERY pleased with the work performed - the workmen were professional and the work was completed in one day as they said. We have a lot of clay in our soil and with all of the rain this year, it placed too much pressure on our wall. Our wall was examined by their engineer prior to install and he explained that the purpose was to stop further movement."

"We are thrilled to be working with the Triple R crew again for upcoming house projects. This spring (2022) we had Triple R Construction come out to make critical repairs (due to water damage) to our sun room and deck. NOTE: We live in a 100+ year old house, and we were pleased with Triple R's knowledge and experience in working on older homes. We also appreciated the thoroughness and professionalism of Cody and his team. We wholeheartedly recommend Triple R to anyone with General Contracting needs. As stated, we are already working with them again on other house projects, and look forward to using this company for all our major house projects in the future."

"Eric was good at returning calls and getting out soon to give me the initial estimate. It took a little time to get the estimate back; but he started quickly once we agreed to work together. Excellent attention to detail and communication while working and always asks questions to make sure he's doing exactly what you want. They finished the job in a timely manner and even work fairly late into the evening on the final day just so they'd have everything done. I will use Stonehouse again in the future and would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of a general contractor. <br />"

"We liked everything they did.  We are all very pleased with their work.  We have no complaints at all and I would definitely recommend them.  If we ever remodel anything else, we would definitely call them.  It was a little pricey, but it was worth every penny.  This project took about two and a half months to complete, and they kept me informed."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Rivesville, WV

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
