"it)We moved into a new house two months ago and I first noticed water on the basement floor after a heavy rain and after I had done a load of washing.  I called Valle Plumbing after seeing the company on Angie's list and David Valle arrived on time and showed me that the sink was cracked in two places.  We explained that this was a basement laundry sink we would like to replace it with an inexpensive one and so he he called for prices and installed the new one.  Everything went without a problem and we enjoyed chatting to David while he worked.

"We needed roof repair, location and repair of leaks in a rooftop deck, and the installation of many cabinets, both base and wall-mounted. Our first contact with Doug Coons was about locating the sources of multiple leaks in a rooftop deck that had been an issue for the entire eight years since we’d built an addition to our home. We’d had at least three other contractors out to look at it and selected one to do the repairs. We invested thousands of dollars into that repair and to replace the ceiling and drywall damaged by the leaks. That “repair” did NOT take care of the problem; the leaking persisted, and all of the money we’d spent was wasted. When I called Doug Coons, he answered his phone on the first ring. He came out within two days and gave us a quote on the spot. I think this was a Wednesday. We discussed the timeline for the job, and I jokingly said, “Well, unless you can have it done before Saturday afternoon, it’ll have to be next week. We’re having a graduation party here Saturday.” To my surprise, Doug said if we needed it done by Saturday, they’d get it done. And they DID. His roofing crew was phenomenal, especially the crew chief. It was obvious from the minute he viewed the interior damage and then walked the deck and roof that he knew exactly what the problems were and how to fix them. He explained very clearly what was going on, why, and what needed to be done. They got to work and were finished and cleaned up and out of there well ahead of the party. We’ve had no issues with leaks since. The next time I called, Doug answered his phone on the first ring. (I’ve since found out that this is standard for him—something which is completely outside of my experience and really appreciated.) We’d participated in an auction to benefit a local animal rescue organization and bought thousands of dollars’ worth of floor model cabinets. They came “as is,” with some damage, and without installation instructions. He and his crew did an outstanding job of configuring, repairing and installing them. Their attention to detail and how particular they are about quality work is really commendable. We’ve already lined up two more jobs with them—drywall, flooring, wainscoting, waterproofing, and more cabinet installation, and I have every confidence that this work will be performed to the same high standards as the work done so far. It’s great to have a contractor who really DOES “do it all,” and I’m so glad I’ll never have to search for and “vet” a contractor ever again. Finally, my husband and I think his quotes are quite reasonable, especially given the high quality of workmanship."

"I found John's name and contact information on the Irondequoit group on Facebook after several people had recommended him for HVAC services. After my furnace ignitor began to malfunction, I called him up and he was able to come over to look at the problem on the same day, and summarized my options to remedy the problem including parts, materials, labor costs, etc. As my boiler system is over 30 years old at this point, I opted to go with a brand new one. Knowing that my boiler may be nearing the end of its lifespan (and in the middle of winter) John scheduled himself for the work within a week's time. He was in my home all day and installed my new boiler along with the accompanying new piping, parts and fittings, including expansion tank, shut off valves, flu vents, etc. He was very professional, thorough, courteous, and cleaned up my basement and left it the way I found it. "The florescent light fixture in my office is finally gone, and it was Paul and his team that defeated it!   I am a graduate student, so I spend a significant amount of time every day reading and writing.  Even though I had spent a lot of money turning the basement of my condo into an awesome n***-den, I ended up doing most of my work in the living room because the fluorescent light in that basement was just awful.
I called Paul at Exquisite Construction to see what he might recommend.  He had been out to my house before to offer an estimate on popcorn ceiling removal (something I am still going to hire him to do once I build the project budget back up).  From the start, Paul and his wife made a positive impression.  They were friendly, engaged, and genuinely excited about hearing and sharing ideas about my house.  The two of them are exactly like an HGTV show, just without the cameras. He took a look at the space and we kicked some ideas around.  I was leaning more towards installing a new "character" light fixture.  Paul recommended LED lights that sat flush to the ceiling, as they would provide more/better light (I think Paul recognized that my desire to make the space look cool was overpowering my desire to solve my initial lighting problem, haha).  We decided to do BOTH things and the result is just amazing.
Paul--as he did when he offered the quote on the popcorn removal--gave several different options and prices on the spot.  For $825, he and his team installed a new, bigger electrical box to handle the expanded lighting.  They moved it to a different point in the ceiling (to center the new "character" light fixture over my table-desk, which is the central feature of the office).  They installed the four LED lights and installed two dimmer switches, so the LEDs and the character light could be set/dimmed independently of each other.  Finally, they repaired the parts of the ceiling that they needed to go through in order to do the wiring.  They did all of this in essentially less than a day (they came at noon yesterday to accommodate my schedule, as I work nights on Monday and a Tuesday morning might kill me, haha.  They were able to do almost all of the work in 4 and a half hours.  They came back first thing this morning to wrap up the ceiling repair, which took them about an hour). 
The end result is that my office looks amazing.  The new lighting, and the added control via the dimmer switches, transformed the space so much more than I ever anticipated, and that's all down to Paul and his team for both the quality of their work and their willingness to share ideas based on their experience.  I knew that I wanted to replace a light fixture.  Paul knew that it could be even better than that, and he made it happen.
I bought my condo in 2013, and I've been looking for a "go-to" contractor--someone who could handle different kinds of projects, did good work, and most importantly--someone that seemed trust-worthy.  Paul and his team are all of those things, and I hope to keep them busy with regular projects over the next few years.
