"Amazing system! Did a lot of research on alarm systems....so glad I went with 1st security! They came to my house and explained everything to me, were not pushy at all. Came and installed the system a few days later....took the time to explain everything to me and did an amazing job with the installation. And the price is excellent, both the installation fee and the month to month. So happy with my decision."

"I worked with Kevin to figure out various options, then after we determined what work BTR would do, they came out and did it.  The aspect I liked most was that they came out with several people who all worked on different parts of the job and did almost all of it in one day!  They would have done all of it in one day except that I wasn't clear on wanting four French doors worked on rather than two, so they did those the next day.  The repairs are nice and the new leaf guards seem to be working better than the old ones.

"In the end we got there... but it was a complicated journey. The clearly have some confusion in their office. We initially called for the a garage door repair... which was done in a timely and efficient manner. Three days after the repair the same door broke again - although much worse, necessitating the door to be completely replaced... which meant we had to purchase two doors, since we have a two door garage. We (and neither was the man who came out to quote us for the new doors) were never able to figure out exactly what happened to break the door after is initial repair. It really was a mystery... but in good faith, the offered us a discount on the new doors to compensate the charges for the initial repair. However - there seemed to be mass confusion of when the doors would be installed...they changed my appointment twice from the initially scheduled day and time... and on the final day, the installer showed up late. After asking if they could come early... so some minor inconvenience on my part. They the day after the install... someone called from the company again because he was scheduled to bring out and install my new doors (which had been installed the day before). Finally - the doors work fine, look good... all involved were kind and helpful... but lacking in organization. A few days after the doors were installed, we did find and outlet that had been removed for the install, had not been replaced as it should have been. We just fixed this on our own instead of having to deal with the confusion of scheduling again. Great team... that just required a little extra patience."

"I called Russ to give me an estimate on built in bookshelves (est was $3000) and doors and shelf for an already existing shelf. Russ came on time when I made the 1st appt. We were having other work done to our house so I was trying to figure out what we were going to have done this year. I called Russ back 4 months later and he came back out to remeasure. He missed the 1st appt to remeasure but when I called back he came out. I was unsure about the built in shelves but wanted to do the have the doors and shelf made which he said would not be a problem. This was on a Tues. He said he would have it done by the end of the week so I called on Monday when I had not heard from him. This started at the end of May. He had another project but would put the doors in the truck and stop by when he had a few minutes. The next time I called he still need to paint the doors but it was too humid. Then after calling weekly for 6 weeks I asked if I need to find someone else to do it and he said his truck and all of his tools were stolen???? I provide this information b/c I got the run around."

"Andrei does a great job. Work is meticulous. Prices fair. He shows up when he says he will. Previously he has fixed my overhead attic door, Re-attached wrought iron gate, Built new crawlspace door. At 4 o'clock on a Friday, my front door wouldn't close. He came over and fixed it. Andrei is a honest, first-rate craftsman."

"It did take a little time to connect up with Jeff - partly due to his being swamped after the storm and my work schedule. He got here by the time promised and due to some rain the evening before, had to come back out a little later in the day when things had dried out. He explained what he was going to be checking for up on the roof and what actions he would take should he find any problems. Once up on the roof he checked everything out as promised, fastened down the flanges where they had been lifted by the storm and reported that there were no other issues with my roof. (Relief!) Jeff was pleasant to work with and very professional and I would definitely recommend his services to others."

"The crew led by Carlos worked quickly and finished job as promised.  Some unexpected wood rot issues came up and it was repaired professionally and at a reasonable cost.  We also replaced or added new horizontal trim to areas around our deck and house. Very pleased with all of their carpentry work.  Painting process was not disruptive and it appears that they did quality work there too-good attention to detail.  We had a couple of doors which were sticking and Carlos fixed those just before wrapping up.  I collected 3 quotes on the job and Painting & Moore was on the high side as the middle quote.  Wes quickly provided a quote for the work and followed up on my questions.  A good experience.

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Rock Hill, SC

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
