"This work took place eleven months ago, but that gives us the ability to say that everything Kurt’s team planted looks great and is growing nicely, except one bush that is struggling, which Kurt agreed to replace without hesitation. We have been in our house for 22 years, and finally got around to replacing the crummy landscaping and walkway the developer put in. Distinct Landscapes installed a paver walkway, and a complete set of bushes, flowers and a crape myrtle tree. The work was done very well and within budget, and the crew distinguished itself by how well they cleaned up the site. The spacing between plantings to allow for future growth seems perfect. "Brian and his crew were absolutely incredible. We just moved into a home in Takoma Park, MD and our front and back yard were in need of some major work. The backyard was a complete jungle. It was extremely overgrown with weeds, brush, poison ivy, and dead/unattractive trees. Brian's crew manually dug out everything and removed all of the dead trees as well as their roots. They also cut back a ton of bamboo and then laid mulch down in the entire yard. Brian and his crew were able to start within days after getting the final quote. Brian is an extremely reasonable, knowledgable, and caring person. In addition to his landscaping knowledge, he is also a "master gardener." We had no clue about what to do next, so he offered to draw out some sketches of designs (free of charge) as well as ideas for plants and flowers that would be suitable for our particular yard. I took this sketch with me to the nursery yesterday and it was very helpful! I would highly recommend using Yard by Yard if you're searching for a landscaping company that you can trust will do a fantastic job!"

"When they did the edges, I didn’t want them to put the bricks there. I wanted them to put a trench to separate where the grass started and the flower bed. I asked them to do it because I wanted it to look more professional and not like something crazy I did that wasn’t straight. It looks very crooked like something I would have done. The front they did well. I told him and he came back out and let him off the hook. He acknowledgeable that he could have done a better job. They didn’t’ put the extensions on the down spout far enough. So now I need to re-dig and make them lower or add more top soil above. They didn’t do a professional job as I would have liked. They were supposed to spray and a couple of days later I noticed that none of the vegetation was dying. I called back and they acknowledge it and came back out. They were responsive.    I tried to use them again but they were not responsive."

"They did a great job.  They took down two trees and cut back tree branches.  The left the mulch, that we used to help fill hole in the garden and yard.  We will use them again, and found our neighborhood yard service."
