Set up the purchase and waited for response from vendor. I finally had to call the vendor after a couple of days to get things started, they called me back, set appointment for them to look at what I wanted done, gave me a price for what was over the 200 sq. ft. that was included in the package and scheduled a time for the work. They called the day before the scheduled work and asked to reschedule due to rain, I agreed to the change and made arrangements for the change of schedule. The agreed date and time was 9-11-15 at 7:00 am. The project supervisor showed up at 8:35 am on that day and the workers came at about 8:55 am. The supervisor got the workers started setting forms and then left to get supplies and do other errands. He came back about 2 hours later (workers now waiting on supplies). They finished the forms, the concrete truck came and they poured and finished the concrete.

I am pleased with the overall results of the finished look however the cleanup of leftover concrete splatter (driveway, garage door, sidewalk, front door), the chunks of concrete left outside of the forms and the nails from the forms found on my driveway, sidewalk and in my yard I was not pleased with.

Overall the people that I had contact with during the job were very nice people and good workers and I would use them again.

"We had received several quotes from different companies, but decided to go with PP as we liked the look of the pavestone versus the stamped concrete offered by the others.
We contacted Bob and he came out within the week to give us a couple of designs.  Once we chose the design, he had the quote to us by the next day and we went ahead and scheduled the work.  The job included:
  - remove a small existing 3x3 concrete landing
  - install ~16'x20' pavestone patio
  - install small (6') walkway leading from the patio to the backyard gate
The crew showed up on time and completed the entire job in one day.  They were very professional and extremely efficient.  You could tell they had worked together for a while.
The finished patio is outstanding and we are very pleased.  It was a pleasure working with Bob and we certainly will do so again on future projects.

"Miguel was prompt and kept in good communication.  He worked with me to verify type of gravel used as the base, and assisted with installation of an improved vapor barrier I supplied myself, (two layers of Tu Tuf #4 and form sides consisting of Foamular 150 glued to the concrete permimeter beam in the garage).  Concrete pour of 5 inches of #4-reinforced 4000-psi concrete when very well, sloping 2 inches from back to front, and smoothed nicely by his team throughout the afternoon into early evening.  Highly recommend M & T Concrete, will ask them back for the rest of the driveway.

"Worked with Sherail. The team on the first day busted up and removed the old slab, built the formers, then poured the concrete, The next day they removed the formers, cleaned up and relocated one sprinkler head. The original quote was for a 4" slab but because of a slight slope in the backyard we got a 6" slab. There was no charge for the extra thickness. They had to remove part of the back fence to get the equipment in. It was all replaced correctly and we have had no problems with it since."

"ABOVE EXCELLENT. MVC Concrete is everything you want in a construction company. Frank Correa came by on the weekend to review the need and provide an estimate because it was the best timing for me. That was the first of several steps where they delivered beyond expectations. Next his price was good, the options he offered were great. We arrived at a estimate and bid and I even changed my mind to add color and a rock salt finish and we worked together on that change. He explained how I need a footer on the concrete to keep the patio from moving and how the type rebar that would be used. The scheduling of the job was a challenge too because we were working through some foundation repair also. Frank and his team stayed flexible until we got the foundation work done and his team was here the next day to do an amazing patio job. WOW. Not sure how much more concrete work I will do. Frank and I discussed a retaining wall, new side walk, anything concrete they are the company I will use. The finished product looks amazing. They gave me instructions on how to care for it the next couple of days to get the best result. MVC Concrete gets an A rating from me only because a higher rating is not available."

FAQs for concrete delivery projects in Royse City, TX

The amount of concrete you need varies by project. One 80lb bag covers an area of about 2 square feet, for a slab 4 inches thick. Two 60lb bags of concrete cover an area of about 2 square feet for a slab that is 6 inches thick.

A truckload of concrete can usually hold a maximum of 10 cubic yards.

The cost of concrete per cubic yard depends on which brand you purchase, but usually costs about $110 for bags.

It takes about 41 bags of concrete to fill a cubic yard. Always plan to buy a few bags more than the exact required amount in case of mistakes.

To calculate the amount of concrete you need for a slab, you should find the cubic yardage of the area you will be filling. Just follow these steps:

  1. Measure the area in feet.

  2. Multiply length by width, and then by thickness.

  3. Divide the resulting number by 27 to find cubic yards.
