"Steve Brown has been our regular plumber for a long time and he does great work. The latest thing he did was replace our sump pump hose so that the sump pump drains out to its own permanent pipe. Our basement was flooding because we were having a lot of rain and Steve was able to come over a couple days later and fix the house. <br /> Steve Brown also replaced our heating system to a HE system, new baseboard heating in our whole house, etc. When we bought our house we didn't realize the heating system was on its way out. After wasting a bunch of money on other plumbers who could not wrangle our heating system we found Steve Brown and he fixed it. And then a few years later we decided to upgrade to a HE system, which works so much better.  <br /> Always professional, personable, and nice. He does a great job and we feel really lucky to have a plumber we can trust. <br />"

"Great! Richard had a cancellation and asked if he could come in that time slot. We were delighted. He was prompt. Richard is knowledgeable, explained everything he was going to do, was very professional and friendly. He worked both inside and outside. The job looks very solid. Our realtor came over a few days later ( we are selling our house in the spring) and was very impressed with the workmanship. I would highly recommend Jackson Foundation Repair."

"At my request, Simmons sent a repairman out to look at my heating system, which at the time was not producing any hot water. I wanted a second opinion on the nature of the problem and the cost of replacing the system. The repairman confirmed that the system could be repaired but that I would probably be better off replacing the system with a new one. He made an appointment for me with their sales representative, who explained what my options were and gave me a quote for the work. The quote was considerably lower than the first quote I had gotten to replace the furnace. I checked the company that made the gas furnaces and was satisfied with the equipment Simmons had recommended. The job was done in two days by a crew of two installers at the fixed price that I had agreed to. The installers showed up at the time I had been told they would and were happy to explain what they were doing and how the installation would work. The installation crew took away all of the old equipment and left the area they worked in completely cleaned up before leaving. The experience from my point of view was well handled from beginning to end."

"I contacted Dave last year to determine the cause of my sprinklers no longer working.  He diagnosed a well pump failure (it was approximately 40 years old) and I advised him that I couldn't make a decision at that time because I was doing other work on my house.  Fast forward to this past spring and Dave honored the price from the fall and executed the replacement quickly and professionally.  When the control panel needed to be updated as well (also 40 years old) the upgrades were handled with the same speed and professionalism.  The installation needed to be adjusted and Dave answered emails and showed up on the weekend to adjust everything.  Overall it was a top-notch experience. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Rye, NH

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
