"The job was fairly straightforward and I had already procured the sink and most of the additional supplies but the job required some replumbing of both the water supply and drain. The master plumber worked efficiently and professionally and the job was completed in a few hours. The cost was determined from a standard table in a notebook but does not take into account the complexity of the job or whether materials are supplied by owner. Since I supplied most of the materials (plumber supplied valves and pipe and drain fittings) the price seemed rather high for around 3 hours work. However, I've had no professional plumbing work done recently and thus have nothing to compare it to. The plumber was very pleasant and professional and the work of high quality. I have no other complaints."

I called in to their office at 11:15 am spoke with a very kind and friendly woman who transferred me to Jeff. I left a message and had a call back in less than an hour. The heater was still under warranty, they had one in stock and the technician, Mike, was at the house in less than an hour and by 2pm the job was done! "This project was large in scope as it impacted every room of our first floor and required multiple specialties (electrical, plumbing, plastering, masonry and of course carpentry). I went to Pierre Garand with many ideas and pictures which included a gas fireplace with a stone border and built-in cabinets, custom wainscoting, crown molding, a double barn door, tile, recessed lighting, and about 800 square feet of luxury vinyl plank flooring (most of which was to be installed in 3 rooms without a threshold). Walls, doors, floors and windows needed to be removed and/or replaced, bathrooms needed to be gutted, Each step of the way, Pierre was professional and patient, and often made suggestions that we went with, such as an 8 ft sliding door instead of 6 ft, a custom wainscoting border he designed in the bathroom, and the fireplace mantle design that he changed because he didn’t think the first version matched farmhouse style we were going for (plus many others). And in each case, his suggestions were absolutely perfect. Since this last project spanned four months, there were multiple issues that came up that needed quick decisions, but Pierre always ran all of these by us before moving on. One example was when there was water damage that required replacement of joists, framing and outside decking that we were not expecting. POM was able to repair and replace with minimal impact to our timeline or budget. In addition, because of the scope of the project, we did end up changing our minds on a few of the design ideas such as changing the fireplace border from a pre-fab stone that was fairly easy to install to natural stone which was much more difficult. Pierre admitted that he didn’t feel that his level of experience with this stone was sufficient and hired a mason to do the job (only charging us for the additional cost over what it would have taken him to do it) and it came out absolutely beautiful. Finally, since this was such a large project, we chose to take on the painting for the project ourselves, but Pierre suggested using his painter for the wainscoting and crown molding and it saved us an enormous amount of time and came out so much nicer than it would have if we had tried to do it. This project was large in scope, time-consuming and challenging, but working with POM was a pleasure and we truly enjoyed the experience and love the results. In summary, I would highly recommend Peace of Mind for any project you have in your home. Pierre is a highly skilled finish carpenter who is very detail-oriented and has an outstanding team of professionals who work for/with him. His prices are reasonable and he is very responsive. We have received numerous compliments on our home and have been asked who the contractor was because of the high quality work he does."
