"Our HOA solicited work to remove vegetation from 3 triangle areas. Randy & Ray's were very responsive, professional and came in with the best quote. Other company's either were not interested in "such a small" job, never bothered to return calls or just did not show up at all. highly recommend Randy & Ray's"

"Fantastic job I would recommend to anyone looking to add some "curb" appeal to their Home. Jeremy came out and gave us a quote and some very helpful advise. I thought the price was a littl high, but we scheduled anyway. When the time came to install our boarder, the crew was on time and professional. The curb was installed with great care and they cleaned up after themselves as they went. Jeremy explained everything along the way and I felt like I got good value for the money. Our new boarder looks great!!! Thanks Jeremy for a job well done."

"We requested a design layout for our new construction and just went in to see the plan. Aimee was so knowledgeable about plants I was quite impressed. She was very professional and educated us on several points. I had some things in mind and she expertly explained why or why not it would work. We will have them begin work in about a month or so. At this point I can recommend Aimee for her expertise and utmost professionalism. <br />"

"I recently moved to a new home and due to the previous owners leaving the carpets and tile in a rather filthy state, I needed the entire house deep cleaned before I was comfortable allowing my children to crawl around on it. From the initial call to Heaven's Best through the end of service this company was fantastic! Jim the owner was extremely helpful with me on the phone during the estimate, taking easily 20 minutes to explain everything in detail and talk about the services that could be performed. I was having trouble deciding exactly what items I wanted to do, and ended up changing my mind twice right before the actual date of service, and surprisingly Jim was really patient and understanding with me and still met all my requests, despite the scheduling nightmare I probably put his team through. <br /> On the day of service, the team arrived ahead of schedule and got right to work. Keith, Jeremy, and Don were all very friendly and professional, focusing h****** the job at hand while also answering questions and talking with me throughout the process. In the end, the tile and carpet look terrific and the team absolutely met my expectations on quality. It literally looks like I have new tile and carpet installed. I will definitely use Heaven's Best again. <br />"

"It's breathtaking. The neighbors are stilling commenting. We first met with Dan in the fall to discuss the landscaping. Since I was replacing the driveway with pavers, we decided I should pursue my plan to reroof the house first. Dan was very patient as getting the roofing contract underway and then getting the approvals from the HOA took quite a bit of time. I found him very easy to work with and not pushy or arrogant. Once we were ready to proceed, they had to delay my start date due to another job, but Dan kept me informed, so it wasn't an issue. When the crew started the work, they were punctual and efficient. It was amazing how quickly they laid the pavers and how precise the cuts are to ensure they all fit together. Plants were installed per plan. They fit well together and the lighting provides the perfect accents. I opted to accept their follow-on maintenance package to ensure the plants get well established. <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Saint Augustine, FL

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
