"I couldn't have asked for things to go any smoother. Randy gave me an estimate when he said he would and from there the process went smoothly. I would recommend them to anyone looking for pavers and may call them back for the next job. Thanks!"

"Jeremy and his crew are very talented and I was very pleased with his work. He did my previous house and then came to my current house and did the curbing here. It has been two years and my curbing still looks brand new. It makes keeping my beds so easy to take care of and adds so much curb appeal. My neighbor just had him do their yard. There is a wait for him to get you on his calendar but be assured, it is well worth it."

"We requested a design layout for our new construction and just went in to see the plan. Aimee was so knowledgeable about plants I was quite impressed. She was very professional and educated us on several points. I had some things in mind and she expertly explained why or why not it would work. We will have them begin work in about a month or so. At this point I can recommend Aimee for her expertise and utmost professionalism. <br />"

"I'd certainly recommend them for future jobs! The crew were very friendly, professional, and tidy. The were careful to protect the floors and furniture and treated everything is if it were their own. They provided suggestions for maintaining the rugs, explained the steps they were taking to address the pet stains, and cleaned up everything when they were done. <br />"

"It's breathtaking. The neighbors are stilling commenting. We first met with Dan in the fall to discuss the landscaping. Since I was replacing the driveway with pavers, we decided I should pursue my plan to reroof the house first. Dan was very patient as getting the roofing contract underway and then getting the approvals from the HOA took quite a bit of time. I found him very easy to work with and not pushy or arrogant. Once we were ready to proceed, they had to delay my start date due to another job, but Dan kept me informed, so it wasn't an issue. When the crew started the work, they were punctual and efficient. It was amazing how quickly they laid the pavers and how precise the cuts are to ensure they all fit together. Plants were installed per plan. They fit well together and the lighting provides the perfect accents. I opted to accept their follow-on maintenance package to ensure the plants get well established. <br />"

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Saint Augustine, FL

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
