Tile N' Style, LLC

"WARNING! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! Hired a few years ago to install tile flooring in our kitchen, had no issues at this time. *Noting that we gutted the floor ourselves, they installed the new tile floor. Fast forward to June 2023, we hired Tyle N Style again for two complete bathroom renovations and some kitchen renovations as well. It should be noted that we were told by owner, Robert Horton, that his company does complete bath and kitchen renovations. To keep this as simple as possible, here are the facts; they were paid a deposit for the work to be done. There were two bathrooms to renovate in a timely manner. They started work on bathroom number one, it didn’t take very long for the many excuses and reasons why they could not show up to work, because of traffic, (several times), sick throwing up, (several times), puppy died, and twice they were in a car accident. When they were at the house working once or twice a week they showed up late and left early and decided it was ok to smoke pot while working. The bathroom was never completed and Robert told my husband he “should have never taken the job because it was too far away.” The amount of work that was completed didn’t even come close to the deposit we gave him. There was some back and fourth bullsh*t from Robert and some events that took place that followed him quitting the job. He owes us money, over TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. We tried to communicate with him, gave him the benefit of the doubt, sent him a letter stating we would accept monthly payments to pay back what he owes us, he agreed to pay us and we never saw a dime. We were left with finishing the bathroom ourselves and hiring another company to do the rest of our renovations and lost over TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. He essentially stole from us. There are more details of this ridiculous and awful situation that I have not included, in the effort to keep it simple. My husband and I were way to trusting and made a huge mistake first, in giving way too large of a deposit and second, in hiring this company. We have text messages and photos as proof of what we experienced. This is our only recourse to warn people who are considering hiring them. DON’T DO IT."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Salado, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
