"We live in Meridian-Kessler and watched two neighbors on our block endure the inconvenience and stress of sewer line collapses and back-ups into their basements.  In order to prevent the same fate for us, we decided to be proactive and have our sewer line redone before we had any problems.  The gentlemen at SLB were amazing -- they were incredibly responsive to our questions, our schedules, and our concerns.  They were able to dig a small hole (approximately 3 x 4 feet) in the concrete basement floor and they cleaned and relined the sewer line from that access point (they even rolled up our carpet and moved our basement furniture for us!).  The job took two days (each about 1/2 day) with no interruption to our home life (all work was completed while we were at work).  We now have a re-lined sewer line with a 50 year guarantee with no mess, no damage to our yard or landscaping, and all at a fraction of the cost of traditional methods. "We had opened our basement for use as an apartment for a friend of ours. The basement was set up for use as separate living quarters, but had not been used for anything but storage in two decades. When our friend arrived, we discovered that the sprayer on the kitchen sink leaked and that the drain pipe for the clothes washer was clogged. I attempted to fix both problems and failed. I could not replace the sprayer on the sink, because the unit was too old (50+ years) and I could not find compatible parts and I could not replace the whole faucet anmd sprayer because the old unit was soldered into place. I tried to use an auger to clear the drain but the problem was deeper than I could reach. I called Whitehead Hancock on a Friday evening. They said they would send someone the following Monday. <br /> The plumber showed up after calling Monday morning and fixed both problems in 2 hours. He installed the faucet that I had attempted to install myself and cleared the drain. Both problems took him two hours. <br />"

"Finding myself in need of after-hours help, I called several local places advertising 24/7 service.  Mr. Rooter was the only one who could commit to coming within 2  hours; and actually arrived within 30 minutes of my call.  Roy was very nice, and took the time to understand all of our symptoms and history fully before offering a diagnosis or a quote.  Roy assured me that pulling the toilet and snaking the drain was the best approach, then showed me in the book what the charge would be.  $408.52 included the 3-year "advantage" membership -- cost would have been roughly $350 without the plan (Repair discounted ~$50 when purchasing the $100 membership).  I hope not to have to use it, but is now available just in case.  <br /> The motorized snake was big and heavy, and despite Roy taking reasonable care, did scratch the freshly painted (narrow) hall when coming up the stairs.  (Having a smaller snake available for small residential jobs would help prevent this.)  Roy let me watch, and showed me the clog as he removed it.  Apparently, the previous owners had a habit of flushing their dental floss -- not good.  He was finished and *thoroughly* cleaned up within two hours of arriving. <br /> Price seemed a little high for less than two hours onsite, *BUT*, he was available promptly after hours.  I'd rather pay a little more for a job done right than leave a tenant without access to a toilet for a day or more, waiting for a plumber.  So no regrets. <br />"
