"Communication was excellent Nobody want to replace a sewer line; but they were professional . It is a dirty job with jackhammering my whole bathroom and ran a new pipe via pipe bursting to the street. They cleaned up every day and did not leave a mess. Three people worked well together and each one had a ð"

"Gus at Pro Bright went above and beyond on a Sunday to detect and repair our master bedroom ceiling leak. With water to the house turned off at the street we were desperate to find a contractor who could respond right away. Other contractors offered appointments Monday or Tuesday. Gus responded that he could be here in 2 hours to repair the leaking pipe, but could have Jeff, his water mitigation project manager here within 30 minutes to assess the water damage. These guys were both so professional. They shared the process, timeline and costs, and were prepared to start right away. They promptly moved my disabled husband and his adjustable bed to another room away from the work area assuring his comfort and safety. Gus repaired the overhead leak and turned the water back on. Jeff scheduled the water mitigation process to begin first thing Monday morning. We are especially grateful for the kindness these 2 professionals showed us in our time of need."

"We had the horrible experience of our main sewer, backing up into our home. At the recommendation of our daughter we called Point Loma Electric And Plumbing. They sent out right away, who put a camera down our sewer line and discovered there were roots in the line. The plumber gave us several choices from doing a cleaning with hydro-jetting to get the roots out to replacing or lining the damaged portion of the sewer line. We opted to just do the Hydro jetting for now and will consider replacing the sewer in the future. One of the good things is that they said that when we decide to replace the sewer in the future , they will apply the cost of what we paid for the hydro jetting to the bigger repair. Everyone we spoke to was very helpful. We will be calling them back in the future."

"I had a running toilet. I called Gorilla Plumbing and spoke to Mickey Romero. He came over immediately and we discussed options. I decided to go with the toilet replacement altogether and angle valve replacement as well. Mickey provided everything, did an immaculate job and he even cleaned up the entire area as well when he finished. Very professional, very easy, very smooth. 10/10 experience. I will be calling Gorilla Plumbing again and requesting for Mickey if I have any other plumbing problems/questions/concerns. "

"Mike did an excellent job of R&Ring my kitchen faucet and replacing the water valves. Even though he replaced the parts sent by the company, the problem was not fixed completely. Mike then waited on the phone for over 30 minutes to discuss the problem with a company rep. Both Mike and assistant John were very mindful of my property and me. He also gives a senior discount which I really appreciate. I have already recommended Premier to several of my neighbors and friends."

"Great job. Anthony did a complete review of the house and the current venting and recommended the proper size for the AC. The installers and electricians came 3 days later, did additional wiring and piping and installed the entire system in 5 hours."

Hydro jet uses water at 4,000psi to clean the inside of the mainline drain which connects all the home's drains to the city's sewer system.
Using a snake we can go through the cleanouts on the side of the house.
With the cleanouts snaked, and the blockage located, we can send the hydro jet through the sewer vent and flush out the blocked drain.

Customers say: Quick response

"ARS was among the first to reply to my weekend request on an online home repair referral site for help with a broken sump pump at my home. I was a little nervous about using them as I'd had an experience about 20 years ago where I was surprised with a seemingly very high bill for replacing a water heater. But, they far exceeded every expectation this time. Most of the companies responding to my post hadn't even read it because they either didn't know what a sump pump was or said they could install one but not provide one. Even the phone receptionist at ARS was confident they both provided and installed sump pumps. It was a Saturday night that I posted the request. On Sunday, at no charge, a service person came by the house to assess the work and give a written estimate. The price was very fair and the service person was prompt, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He instantly understood the problem and how to fix it. He promised to repair it the next day and he did -- right on time, done right, and even did me the favor of teaching me how to get a pilot light ignited on a different appliance inside my house. The pump works perfectly. The work area was spic and span when he finished. His communication with me about progress on the project was outstanding. Thanks, Wesley. You have totally restored my faith in ARS and I'll be calling you guys from now on for any plumbing problems."

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in San Diego, CA

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
