"Excellent service: rugs were overdue for cleaning and they came out very well. Staff was responsive and professional. Really appreciated the pick up and delivery, and flexibility on extending the return date due to our schedule. Not sure if price was competitive as I liked talking to them right away and didn't bother shopping for price. Will use their services again."

"We had mike come to our house to inspect our basement that had flooded out due to a sump pump that failed. Mike came out inspected and told us the expected. We had mold growing actively. We came to an agreement of what was to be done. We got sump pump replaced and got the basement free and clear of water and Mikes team dryer and treated the mold. He came back to ensure that everything was dealt with properly. That 2nd inspection meant the world to us and we would highly recommend Mike and team to anyone who ends up in our situation."

"I was glad with how fast, friendly, easy it went for me to turn it in and get results quickly. They helped with my Angie's discount so it was good to know i got the best price (less than I imagined) to have this done. The possibility of having mold in a house is stressful enough... glad to have this go smoothly."

"The entire crew from Eastern Mold Remediation were nothing short of exceptional. From my first contact with Ellen in the office and Bob doing the estimate we were very pleased with their professionalism. They were able to get out and look at the project and had an estimate to us within 24 hours. Between the time of the estimate and doing the project they were available to work with our insurance company and answer questions we had. The crew came in to do the work and Bob was there to get the project started and show the crew the issues found. The crew was Andy, Dakota, Jordan, and Brendon. The guys were very courteous and cared about our concerns and needs during the entire project. We continued to live in the main portion of the house and they made sure that we were safe and never at risk during their work.
The work ethic demonstrated by this group of guys in there twenties was not what you might expect these days, they were committed to high quality workmanship and pleasing the customer. They traveled an hour and half each way to get to the job and one of the days there was a severe rain storm with high winds, they called to let us know they would be a 15 minutes late getting to the job because of the weather.
We hope to never have a need for mold remediation in the future, but if we do they would be the only call I would make. We called three companies for this project and the other two were not worth the phone call, one didn't even come do an estimate and the other was over a week getting an estimate out. I have great trust in Eastern Mold Remediation and would recommend them to anyone in need of this type of service."

"An attic is one of those "I hope it's working like it should" spaces and, unless there's a need, you may never go there. In the 20 years we've lived in our home, I've only gone up there once to evict a grey squirrel who was late on their rent and busting up the place. A buyer's inspection of the attic revealed mold on the roof decking and rafters. Safe Environmental Solutions (SES) set up a chamber around the closet with the attic access hatch to keep the blasting media and mold from entering our home. In the attic, SES laid poly sheeting and used a negative air machine for dust control while blasting and cleaning. After the baking soda blasting they fine cleaned using HEPA-vacuuming and damp wiped with water/mild detergent. They re-installed the blown-in fiberglass insulation and installed new rafter-mates to allow the ventilation system to work like it should. They also made a new insulated attic hatch with a handle and hooks to keep it sealed closed. At the close of the job, SES provided a report with pictures of the attic space. I would definitely recommend SES to anyone looking for mold remediation. I was very impressed with SES's professionalism, promptness, and care of our home while the job was done."

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Sanford, ME

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
