"They did what they said they were going to do. I still have some inside repair to do, so I will be using their services in the future for the cracks in my ceilings. We have a lot of foundation problems on this side of the country. All the shrubs and plants they dug up had died. They were very professional and had people who were very knowledgeable on these issues. They had supervisors on each section of the job throughout the project."

I’m Brandon Shaw, owner of SHAW Construction & Remodeling, serving homeowners across North Texas. I’ve spent over a decade in construction, starting in heavy equipment and moving into hands-on residential remodeling, so I understand both the big picture and the small details that make a job last. My company focuses on quality work—whether it’s painting, flooring, drywall, or full interior upgrades—and I treat every home like it’s my own. I believe in doing things right the first time, communicating clearly, and standing behind my work long after the job is done.

"I had replaced these type of shower cartridges in the past. This time I broked the stem while attempting to remove it. At that point I decided to call the pros. After finding Legacy Plumbing at Angie's list, I contacted them. The communication was very courteous and I was placed for an appointment the next day first time in the morning. Enoch, the assigned Legacy Plumbing technician, called 20 minutes prior to arrive to my place on time. He made a quick assessment of the problem, explained what he needed to do as well as the potential risks of attempting to fix what I had messed up. He performed the procedure with a high degree of skill which allowed him to get everything fixed without any further damage. When the job was done he proceeded to thoroughly clean the work area. Charges were clearly explained beforehand and Enoch stuck to those. Based on this experience I would highly recommend Legacy Plumbing to anyone with a plumbing need."

"Youngs called 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment to let me know the technician was on his way. He arrived on time, was courteous and unclogged the kitchen drain line within minutes. This company is contacted with my home warranty service so I cannot comment on their actual price for service, but well worth my $75 fee. <br />"

"Excellent. Not only did they find the valve (system was installed long before we bought the house, and another contractor had searched for an hour unsuccessfully) but everything was replaced/repaired and tested completely. He advised me to replace certain sprinkler heads but he didn't try to oversell me with others that didn't need replacing. Now that the spring is coming I have a little bit of repair and maintenance to be done and I will be calling Steve ASAP."

"The original traditional hot water heater was not installed correctly (too long of an exhaust pipe) which required modifications to be made to the plumbing so that the new tankless hot water heater could be installed per the manufacturer's recommendations and building codes. R.T. Plumbing was able to come up with a success plumbing orientation to maximize the performance of the tankless hot water heater and to bring everything up to code. <br />"

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Sanger, TX

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
