"I had some electrical problems and Jenna came out and gave me exactly what I wanted! She explained to me what she could do to solve my problem and she was going to put in some electrical boxes by my Internet router and I got exactly what I wanted. I’m extremely happy. She’s very knowledgeable, courteous, and a very nice person."

"As stated by Morris A. My bill was also misleading. .They also lied about mailing the billing.to me. The f1rst bill was a blank piece of paper with 2 bill amounts on it with no explanation.. When the first repairman came to fix the AC that stopped working, he spent about 15 minutes at my house and put some fluid in the AC unit but the AC stopped working again the next day..The worker stated that his trip should be covered by warranty since they installed the AC. Donner charged us $974.01 for that first trip. I have noticed they have made a big effort to covered up the bad work and billing they have done in the past for a lot of people. Be careful of this company and check around."

"Formal Complaint against TLC Plumbing & Utility (Albuquerque) I am filing this formal complaint regarding gross negligence, illegal plumbing practices, and extensive property damage caused by TLC Plumbing. Nature of the Incident: TLC Plumbing performed work on my property that was not only substandard but fundamentally dangerous. Specifically, they installed a sewer pipe into my main culinary water line, creating a severe health hazard and cross-contamination of my home's drinking water. Property Damage & Negligence: ? Illegal Installation: After hiring an independent, licensed plumbing company to inspect the work, it was confirmed that TLC?s installation was illegal and violated state building and health codes. ? Structural Damage: The company caused unnecessary destruction to my backyard and my home?s foundation by digging excessive and unnecessary holes. ? Abandoned Equipment: During their attempt to clear a line, they broke a professional snake cable inside the pipe "

"We have been using Simmons for years. I had tried several other companies and always got poor service or completely ripped off. Very tired of this in Albuquerque! Simmons Plumbing is an above average constant! I trust that they won't overcharge or say one thing and do another. They aren't the most affordable, but they are the best workers and when they give you a quote, even if it's much harder and takes much longer, they honor their quote (redoing our exterior pipes to the city was ****). They are polite and prompt and I'm thrilled we have one company we can trust. Thank you Dean & Co."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Santa Fe, NM

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
