"The overall process was very smooth. Lowell is extremely knowledgeable and started with a very informative estimate of all the possibilities he was considering for the project. He has a substantial portfolio of past work to view as well. The timeline was accurate and he was updating us every step of the way if something changed. We happened to be out of town the week of the project but communication was never an issue. The final product was amazing. Everything he outlined for us to expect and see from the finished product was true. The one critique I have is that we were unaware of some of the landscaping issues with the surrounding sod that we now have to fix to make level with the new driveway. "The primary reason for re-landscaping the front (north) side of our home was because we were getting water in our lower level with heavy rains.  Since we had to correct the water issue, we decided it was also a good opportunity to give the front of our home a fresh and updated look. Josh Knutson, the owner of Dakota Landscaping, was not only extremely helpful in designing a plan for us, he went the extra mile to work closely with the company that was re-paving our driveway to ensure that all the grading around the house and toward the driveway was correct to direct water away from the house.  Dakota's work was tested within days when the Twin Cities received record rainfalls over a 3-day period.  We didn't have a drop of water in our house!  The whole Dakota team was outstanding.  The employees worked hard, were conscientious, careful, courteous and when I asked for some changes, they didn't hesitate at all.  I liked that the owner worked right along with his team and that their goal was the same as mine - that the job was done right and that we were happy with the end result. "Due to a family emergency, my husband and I decided to sell our house this year. We asked Justin to come over and walk through the house with us and give his opinion on things that should be done before putting it up for sale. He gave us a reasonable quote, and let us decide what we wanted him to do, and what we thought we could tackle ourselves. He knew our goal, and wanted to make sure we got what we wanted and were satisfied. Justin and his crew painted the main living areas of the inside of the house (walls and ceiling), remodeled the main floor bathroom, fixed and repainted some siding around the house, and poured a cement apron and re-sealed the driveway. He was always in contact with us on the progress of the projects (as we had already moved out). If we had questions or concerns, he would respond quickly. As many times as we contacted him, he was always very nice and professional."

"All the original concrete on the front patio and steps had been patched many times over the years and was now beyond the point of repair. To add complexity to the project, there was a storage room built below the front patio that used the patio concrete as its ceiling. We called several of the top concrete companies to receive bids. Four of the companies that came to do bids either refused the job on site or just never responded with a bid after our meeting. Our project was not simple, by any means, and there were quite a few logistical issues involved with the original design of the patio. Three other companies (including Pietigs Plus) provided bids, and all were competitively priced.
I decided to go with Pietigs Plus for a few reasons. First, Jeff Pietig spent quite a bit of time at the house investigating things prior to preparing a plan for the project. There were a lot of unknowns going into the demolition phase, and I felt more confident in how much time and attention he put into proper measurements and tests prior to determining his bid. Additionally, it was always easy to reach Jeff with questions, and he was enthusiastic about doing the work for us, which is something I didn't get from any of the other contractors.
After contracting Pietigs Plus to do the job, Jeff was great about working within our timeframe. We had quite a few other projects happening at the house around the same time, and we had to coordinate a tight schedule for his work, since the front entrance would be unusable until he was completed. Jeff and his crew were able to meet the timeframe perfectly, and they put in extra work over a weekend to finish on time, even with a few of the project's mysteries providing surprises along the way. They poured new concrete walls and the stoop for the patio, and they did an excellent job installing the patterned bluestone pavers and veneer stone around the patio. The quality of the work is quite impressive, and Jeff showed a lot of concern along the way to make sure we were completely happy with the results!
I would highly recommend Jeff and Pietigs Plus to anyone! They were great to work with and provided us with a beautiful new front patio! Our project attracted a lot of attention in the neighborhood, and I have had dozens of neighbors ask for his information. It really looks great, and we are incredibly happy with our decision to go with Pietigs Plus!
