"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"The repairs went well, in spite of bad news. First, we got a courtesy call at home half an hour before they arrived, (then they called my work number to say the same thing when nobody answered at our home number). When they arrived, the bad news was that dishwasher was toast, and the technician recommended we replace it for not much more than repairing it. He also showed us what went wrong (the filter had calcium deposits that blocked water flow and burned out the motor) then explained what to do to keep our next dishwasher working. He looked at the drier and showed us how to fix it ourselves by shortening a hose to avoid it kinking. We were charged for a regular diagnosis and a half-price second diagnosis.
This kind of service was not a fluke--the last time we called them, our oven was fixed correctly when two other repair companies fixed it and each time it broke again in less than a month. The other places stood by their work... one time each...then failed to return our calls. In contrast, our Mr. Appliance tech fixed the oven, then troubleshot to figure out why it kept breaking (it turned out to be an ungrounded outlet). During that same visit, with our second broken appliance, a fridge, he told us how to fix the icemaker ourselves for less than he could.
Diamonds may be rare, but that's nothing compared to the rarity of courteous repair people who are knowledgeable, honest, and genuinely decent people. I've worked with three Savannah companies, and neither could hold a candle to the folks we've worked with at Mr. Appliance.

"I am so impressed with the promptness and professionalism of J.C. Multi Services. He was on time and was very efficient in fixing my dryer. What normally would’ve been a two or three day process with another company, he was able to find a new part and install it in the same appointment window. Extremely happy with the job completed and would recommend to anyone needing appliance repair."

"I was searching Home Warranty providers after a bad experience with my 7 year, soon to be terminated "former" Fidelity Home Warranty service provider. Warranty service providers are essential, for they step in and "act" when life deals you an "Oh Crap" situation like your refrigerator suddenly quits. Every high dollar appliance in a home has a life span that will end whether your prepared for it or not. It's a common occurance that leads to unexpected higher debt concerns while you frantically attempt to save your food from going bad. Got a minimum of $1,700 to get a new one? A truck or a really good friend to borrow theirs to pick it up? Plus time to allow it to achieve proper temperature to transfer your temp sensitive food! Well if you haven't experienced this type of event, in your life, you will! I began by doing some easy research online like searching for best Home Warranty providers. I put some inquiries out to prospective providers and as expected, the sales calls began to ring on my phone. They all have why "they" are the best provider - so take notes and compare policies. Ask whether they cover swimming pools, septic systems, roof repairs etc. So my phone rings with an out-of-state area code and it's Zach from Choice Home Warranty. While on the call, this enthusiastic salesman hit all the "trigger" items I was looking for; *Annual Service Price *Price per claim deductable *Response time You know, all the "need to know" info that helps you make an informative decision. I started paying $550/year 7 years ago in 2014 with my old service provider. The per claim fee was $65. Today in 2022, it's $710/year and $85/claim. Was it worth it you ask? If I figure the math, my total cost over 7 years and only 4 claims was $4,450 or $636/year. This cost paid to replace my pools salt cell and chlorine generator ($1,800 in parts alone), 2 separate Air Conditioner repairs which replaced the coil fan motor, a circuit board replacement, system coil cleansing, relays and a capacitor. (No idea of how much my total cost would have been. I paid $65 twice. Nice huh?) 1 roof repair that replaced the "Cricket", which is a 15' roof section elevational change just below the ridge line. It's important to remember that these repairs don't include "hidden costs" which are personnel and service labor rates. Something you will pay for without a Warranty Service. Here's the best part of the call from this AWESOME salesman. He offered me 6 year "fully transferable", rate locked for life" service policy that when divided out by 6 is LESS THAN WHAT I WAS PAYING ANNUALLY, 7 YEARS AGO!!! So, is a Home Warranty plan a safe bet??? I have a 9 word answer for those without a Choice Home Warranty service plan. YOU BET YOUR DRIPPING SWEATY BUTT CRACK IT IS!!! Props to Zach, YOU DA MAN!!! FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Savannah, GA

You should hire an experienced plumber for major repairs like persistent leaks, electrical faults, or complete unit replacements, as these issues require expert diagnostics and installation. For minor problems like clogs or small jams, a certified and insured handyperson can often handle the repair safely. Hiring a professional ensures the repair is done correctly, maintaining your appliance's performance and helping prevent future issues.

A garbage disposal lasts between eight and 15 years when properly maintained. Factors like frequency of use, regular cleaning, and following manufacturer guidelines can influence its lifespan. Higher-end models with stainless steel components typically last longer than budget units with galvanized components. Routine maintenance helps prevent early failures and keeps your disposal running smoothly. Avoiding problematic materials like fibrous vegetables, coffee grounds, and grease can significantly extend your disposal's operational life and efficiency.

Your garbage disposal may clog when food particles, especially fibrous or starchy materials, build up around the grinding components and block the normal flow. Dense foods like potato peels, rice, or pasta can cause blockages, especially if not flushed through with enough cold water. Regular cleaning and proper use can help prevent clogs and keep your disposal running smoothly.

Garbage disposals impact the environment by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills and by using electricity when operating. By grinding up organic waste, they decrease the volume of waste that would otherwise produce methane emissions in landfills. While they consume some energy, using efficient models and following recommended practices can manage this usage. With responsible use, garbage disposals can be an eco-friendly option.
