Small jobs welcome

"Patrick is detail oriented, professional and kind. He is knowledgeable in his craft and has great mentor group to back him up. His work is clean and he keeps the jobsite very organized. I knew I was working with a professional the moment he showed up. I would highly recommend him. He did an epoxy garage floor coating for me and I couldn't be happier with the results. "

"Pacific Coat wasn't the lowest bidder or the highest but the job turned out excellent and I feel like I received good value for every dollar spent. The old saying is that a good paint job is 75% preparation and that certainly describes how Pacific Coat painted my house. Our previous painter pressure washed one day and painted the next. Pacific Coat spent four days with a two man crew washing, scraping, calking and spot priming before they painted. When they were nearly done they asked me to inspect everything and make a touch-up list. I was pretty picky about it. Their response was to take care of all of it, immediately, with no questions asked. That's excellent service. I worked outside on other projects during the paint job and observed almost everything the painters did. There is no doubt they are serious professionals dedicated to a job well done."

"I can't emphasize enough how thorough, professional and classy this business was to work with. He did the job three times for us in order to make it right. The first time, the stain wasn't compatible with our wood. The second time it rained unexpectedly. The third time was beautiful. Each time Dari very plainly stated that it needed to be redone and he did so. It was model for professionalism and really doing the job right. We're going to be using them for any of our deck and fencing needs going forward. You should too."

"I really liked that they sent someone out after the pressure washing to test different stains to help me choose. This was really great. I also really liked to option to pay over 6 months. My bill was nearly $5000 so that helped. The workers were very nice. I had an overall good experience. One thing though was that after the pressure washing and sanding I pointed out a few times that when the deck was wet there were several places where it looked as if it needed further sanding because it was discolored. But they assured me that it would not cause a problem and they were wrong. Those discolored areas are there."

"<p>I can not say enough good things about custom Deck and Fence Maintenance. As a home inspector of 35 years I have a pretty good idea of how to hire a good contractor. I allowed for 5 bids before hiring CDFM due to Craig's knowledge of fencing, the wood product, his answers to my questions, prompt communication, and a fair price. Craig's crew did an excellent job replacing our rotten fence on a property line that is adjacent to four neighbors. They communicated well from delivery to execution. We had a small glitch that became evident after the build and Craig returned immediately to fix it. The crew was polite, intelligent and worked practically non-stop. The build was excellent, the wood was quality. I stained it myself a week later and have had many compliments. We had a lot of plants that were growing on or close to the old fence and I made an effort to protect them. They respected my efforts and did the same. Two of the three sides (involving two residents and one renter) of the fence were completed. One of the neighbors had them install an additional fence and another neighbor is planning on hiring them as well. The third side (104 feet) has renters as well and the owners communicated with us to wait until they had some landscaping completed in a few months, which we are doing. </p> <p>One neighbor who we share maybe 15 feet of property line with did not participate financially and has since posted a bad review which we totally disagree with. Our 25 year old fence (bought and paid for solely by me) and his  at least 28 year old fence (never replaced since I have lived here)  that extended beyond our shared property line was falling down due to rotten posts, hence the reason for the replacement as there are swimming pools on two sides. I had heard dogs and observed temporary farm fencing  put up where there is a gap in the common corner - due to a failing fence. I spoke with the occupant ( a renter) face to face about the project, wrote down my name and phone number to contact me and suggested they might secure their fence since it was already in disrepair and falling down. No one ever contacted us or any other neighbor. The property owner now claims CDFM caused their fence to fall down by disconnecting from the corner post.  It did not fall any further than it was already leaning and was in fact secured by Craig's crew since the occupant did not follow my suggestion. His fence is failing due to rotten posts.  The third side of the fence (awaiting replacement after landscaping) which is 114 feet long and perpendicular was also totally disconnected from the corner  post and is also not falling over at this time.  There is no logic to the poor review and many mis-statements. </p> <p>In conclusion , I would hire CDFM again and I have already done so for another person I represent. We have also added his company to a list we hand out to the clients of our home inspection business for reliable references in the construction industry; they are a great group and deserve consideration in your decking/fencing projects.  </p> <br />"

"If Daniel isn't "Angi approved," he should be. Great workmanship. Good, fair pricing, Took care of the entire job, but also offered ways I could do some of the work and save a dollar or two. He installed 80' of cedar fencing and another 250' of wire fencing. When I wanted to add three more panels months later, he showed up when he said he would and knocked it out of the park. Can't say enough good things about his service and craftsmanship."

"Chris (exterior siding/repair), Mike (Exterior Pressure washing/painting) and their team, did an excellent job on our home. They provided exceptional attention to detail and first-class work. I would definitely recommend Absolute Painting and Power Washing for your next project. Chris installed Hardie-plank siding, two exterior doors and repaired trim boards. Mike's team matched our exact color requests and did the work quickly. Mike and Chris also coordinated with the gutter contractor to install/paint as needed. Office staff was excellent to work with when finalizing payment or planning the work. The initial cost quote matched the final cost exactly. Thanks!"

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Scappoose, OR

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
