"Navin is knowledgeable, professional and affordable. His quality of work is excellent and he finished the project quickly. All the pipes in our house burst. He replaced all the plumbing in the house within two days. I am beyond pleased with the price and outcome. I would definitely recommend Navin, you wont find anyone better. "

Small jobs welcome

"Etmond reached out quickly after I inquired and then we were able to set up a time to review the projects. He did an exceptional job including tweaks to or replacement of our kitchen cupboards hinges, replacement of curtain rods with accompanying installation of blinds, and new door hardware and lock. He was friendly, reliable, professional and his pricing was very competitive. I definitely plan to hire him again and have already started preparing a future list of projects for the spring season. "I have hired Waseem for a few projects - among them was the installation of a new microwave over our oven and another to fix a leaking sink. Both were urgent (around holidays) and he came over quickly, he was knowledgeable, fair priced and did excellent work. I have recommended him to others. I hope to hire him in the future, as well."

"I originally had my gutter screens installed Feb 2021. Recently I had a new roof installed. The roofing company removed the screens in order to do job. I made one call to Eddie and he was there next week and reinstalled screens. He also made sure that the new installation was done correctly to insure it would not void the roofing warranty. It’s always better to use a local in lieu of national contractors like leaf filters. You get better personal communication and satisfaction. In this case Eddies Company Capital Gutters is a Veteran owned family business. You best bet is to hire the vet!"

"Beautiful work! Keith finished our log home exterior siding. He was reactive on the phone, very communicative, answered all my questions, gave recommendations, and was on-time. I’m extremely happy with the quality of the work he did. I would recommend him to anyone and I’m looking forward to work with him on future projects."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Schenectady, NY

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
