"Al and his son did a great job installing our large flat panel tv’s in our new house. There were a lot of issues that came with our new house but Al was able to fix everything and make it look amazing! I’m so happy with his work that we are going to have him setup our home stereo system too!"

"Troy, Justin, and Sam were selected by our team to install 20+ cameras, network cabling, access points, and network equipment at our business in El Mirage, AZ, they handled the project from start to completion, showing up on time with all the materials needed. The installed the new structured cabling in our industrial building for all of our network equipment, cameras, access points, and door access control. From the main panel to each point of distribution the cables were routed properly and with care. Troy and the crew assisted with getting the cameras aimed and sighted properly to cover the building with a 100% coverage rate. The installation was clean and perfect. They completed the job on time and under budget and also checked back in to follow up on how the system was working. Troy and the Crew at HardWiring were integral on getting our new building location up and running in an extremely timely manner. They handled the install of all the equipment in the network racks and terminated all the cables to the rack as well. We have since have had their crew back out over 8+ times for additional work, including installing cabling and cameras for a complete additional office space at the location. Troy and his crew are excellent and professional to work with. Anyone looking for a business that cares about their customers, provides upfront detailed pricing, honest business practices, and detailed workmanship should strongly consider using Troy and his crew from HardWiring for their expertise and knowledge on small home installs to large industrial and commercial full scale projects."

"While the first install did not go as planned, once AV Tech got back to me with proper mounting hardware, the install went fine. They were one day later than planned, but that was not really a problem. Antenna they installed on gable end of roof was a Windward, similar to what is used on motor homes. The antenna has a built-in signal booster, but I think that given the distance to transmitters and tall trees around, we may require an additional signal booster. Having used such an antenna on a photometer, their range is not the greatest. But the antennas was what AV Tech said would work for me. We have it hooked up to two televisions. On both TV,s CBS and PBS stations break up digitally and also audio drops out. NBC, ABC and assortment of other channels all seem to be received very well. The digital picture we receive is great for 1080 broadcasts and I notice that some stations only broadcast in 720 or even lower. The 1080 broadcast are even sharper than we got local channels through Direct TV. On our newest smart TV, in addition to about 40 digital stations we receive another 40 to 50 stations that we will rarely if ever watch, but they are available with an outside antenna. Cutting the cable, so to speak, may require some additional expense as the $189 antenna (expensive) and the installation cost of over $350 (seemed a little high) do not give the over-the-air reception we expected. So while satisfied the installers (Robert and Michael) did a great job, the overall resulting reception leaves something to be desired. I spoke with AV Tech about a second booster for our main TV we watch the most and seems to have the most reception issues, but after a few days I find that both TVs have signal issues."

"We hired Planet Geek for an evaluation of our security camera needs. We had existing security cameras that had become outdated and not particularly reliable. Adam came to our home and evaluated our needs and suggested a plan that would meet our surveillance requirements. The cameras were installed by an experienced team and provided great coverage for our home. The cost of the system was comparable to other proposals from other vendors, but seemed more comprehensive and better supported. My best recommendation is to say that we preferred their work so much that we hired Planet Geek a second time as they first installed security and surveillance cameras at my daughter?s home. Now we have two systems which are running as advertised. Thank you, Adam and Planet Geek for your support."

FAQs for home theater system or media center installation projects in Scottsdale, AZ

For those on a budget, a home theater system can be installed for as little as $5,000. This simple setup, which doesn’t require professional installation, includes essential components that provide reliable visual and audio performance. It's a budget-friendly way to enjoy movies, TV shows, and live events from the comfort of your home.

Plan to spend at least $70,000 for a high-end home theater. At this price point, you’re paying for advanced components, including flagship projectors, reference-grade speakers, dedicated subwoofers, robust A/V receivers, and professional installation. These features deliver outstanding picture quality, rich surround sound, and a polished finish. Costs climb quickly when you add custom seating, acoustic treatments, and smart-home integration, so ask your installer for a detailed estimate before committing.

The ideal screen size for optimal home theater viewing ranges between 100 and 120 inches. A well-proportioned home theater room measures 24 feet by 15 feet, with a minimum ceiling height of nine feet. However, smaller spaces, such as 15 feet by 20 feet or 10 feet by 12 feet, can also work well. These dimensions enhance acoustics and visual performance, creating an immersive entertainment environment.

A well-built home theater room should last as long as the house, but the electronics inside need periodic attention. Plan to review your equipment every four to five years to see whether new formats, connection standards, or performance upgrades justify a change. Upgrading outdated projectors, receivers, or streaming devices keeps the system running efficiently and prevents compatibility issues, all while protecting the investment you’ve already made in the space.
