"Our project was a home repair project. We contacted Paul Haugen Construction ,LLC, and met with Jared Lord the company owner. Based upon construction plans, he identified the work that needed to be completed and once we agreed to the work prepared a contract for the project to complete it in a timely manner. Jared agreed to serve as our General contractor on the project. The parameters for the project were to replace our current lower patio with a reinforced concrete slab, reconstruct the support structure that sat on the patios slab and supported an upper porch/ deck, replace a cathedral window wall, and replace the existing porch/deck railing and construct in its place a stainless wire/cedar railing system. The existing lower concrete patio had cracked which caused movement in the supports f9r the overall porch/deck support structure to move which in turn caused the glass window wall next to the upper porch/deck to crack. They needed to realign and replace the main window mullions holding large window panes, then work with the commercial glass subcontractor to ensure accurate pricing, ordering, and installation. Once structural plans for the project were completed by a structural engineer, we reviewed the Plans with the contractor. He spent a good deal of time reviewing the project plans with us to indicate how he would proceed with the project, making sure we understood the required work. Most importantly he explained how he and his crew would coordinate with us, and the work his team would perform, and the work to performed by the subcontractors. He went over the payment process and how he would make payment requests at several stages in the project. Once they started, we met his crew who were excellent to work with and kept us informed about the work as they went along. They also kept us informed all along the project and about any changes. The crew was very friendly and went out of their way to answer any questions we had. When on the job site they informed us of and any delays that we might expect. Jared also worked with our Insurance company to ensure the work met insurance requirement for covered portions of the work. We are very satisfied with the results of the project which remained within budget and gave our home more structural integrity and significantly improved the appearance ofvb the house. We have had nothing but compliments about the project. I would recommend Jared’s company to anyone who needed residential remodel or repair work. Total Project cost : $ 45,000.00"

It was beyond my budget and Vic was very amenable to reducing the scope of work to a point that the re-do was affordable. "I am a repeat customer, so I knew the carpenter, Joe, coming in. I started by using their design contractor. I gave her the colors and ideas (beach theme, ceramic wood-look floor tiles), and she pulled the rest together. Invaluable because I can't trust my own taste. They removed a square shower in the corner and a set of shelves next to it, and glassed in that end of the room for a full shower. We put tile down along the whole room, with a recessed shower pan, and a linear drain against the wall. Joe built-in medicine cabinets, and trim all around the room, per my design pictures. The subs included a glass door guy, the plumber, the tiler, painter, and the countertop slab tiler. We also had some work done in our hallway. They removed the single boob light from the middle, and installed two recessed lights on either end, along with putting two switch boxes on either end of the hallway. Joe built a floor to ceiling cabinet in a 13” dead space at the end of the hallway, which included a laundry hamper on tracks, cubbies, and shelves. And then on a whim, I asked to have our old hallway linen cupboard doors replaced to match the new ones. We had two leaks during and after, but one reason I would use them again, is how they handled both times. One was a leak from the plug on the toilet supply. We found it on a Saturday morning, and I ended up waking up our carpenter with my text. He came out and figured it out and fixed it by 1. The other one was after everything was done and cleaned up, and we had paid for everything. The basement bathroom ceiling, fan, and wall below the master was wet one day, and we realized a joint in the pipe from the master toilet to the stack was slowly dripping between the two rooms. I texted Joe again, and he referred me to our GC, who came out with a plumber and fixed it. They had to make a hole in the downstairs drywall, so he has been coming back regularly to put three layers of mud on the new drywall. I was so sure that they would regretfully find that it wasn't their fault and we would have to deal with the cost and bother of finding a plumber and carpenter. Start to finish, it took about four months, but three weeks of that was the initial tile order, and another three for an incorrect tile order."
