"Overall, it was a good experience. AAA put down a vapor barrier and installed a Santa Fe dehumidifier with sump pump. The result is that we can now use the stand-up basement/crawlspace to store things under the house without ruining them. This is the part that you need to know. The installation was not without problems. First, they broke an A/C drain pipe, second, they cut a sprinkler controller wire while running a PVC pipe. Here's my take, accidents happen but how does the business respond to these issues? Well, Donna was very quick to send her team out to correct the problems and they even paid for the damage to the sprinkler system. To me, that's top notch customer service. Any business can make a mistake, but how they handle it is the mark of a good company. Every time I lift the roll door and go into the basement now, I'm amazed at how cool and fresh the air is down there. No more mildew and no more smell."

I specifically asked to make sure that the technician would be wearing a mask (during a pandemic that has killed over half a million Americans). They said that he would (he wore a gaiter, which is fine). But during part of the time, he had his gaiter off, and no other mask, standing maybe 7 and a half feet away from me, talking to me while I was, at his request, looking at my computer screen to see if I'd gotten the invoice that had been sent by his office. Man, I sure hope he wasn't an asymptomatic carrier, because if he was, I might be toast (I can't NOT LIVE in my house for three days). Is it really THAT hard to keep a mask on for 25 minutes, when someone's life could depend on it? Frankly, I'd rather pay a little more and be GUARANTEED that he'll keep it on! I **DON'T KNOW** whether I'd use them again or not. I'd be inclined not to, unless no other company with a decent rating is available. But Angie's list **FORCES YOU* to say whether or not you would use them again, and at least in this case it's not as simple as "Yes" or "No." *Maybe* I will, but I'd be inclined to try elsewhere, at least as long as this pandemic is raging."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
