UPDATE - 2/4/2015 - They did come to my home and provided an estimate and plan for lighting our back yard and deck. 6 lights were included in our original purchased deal. Their proposal was for the original 6 lights plus another $1500 worth of lighting. I like their plan but we weren't prepared to spend the additional money at this time. They came out yesterday and installed just the initial 6 lights. They arrived on time and the work they did is wonderful. Our deck is beautifully lit now and I am very happy. While this relationship got off to a rocky start, they made it right and we will hire them again when we're ready to finish the back yard lighting. Also - the deal was supposed to be for the front of the house - but that wasn't clear when I bought the deal - so they allowed us to use our 6 lights on the deck. I'm sure they want the front so that they can show off their work - and that makes sense to me - as their work is worth showing off. I would now highly recommend this company."

"Mark's team of three did the entire job in under 2 days. Heavy duty white PVC pipe was run in an L-shape over half the perimeter of the house. Grading helped moved water "downhill". They dug a trench about 60 feet with 3 mini French drains (?) and buried the pipe with outflow at the front edge of my property as it meets the street. Crew was very thorough, neat and professional. Seems to be working fine although no torrential storms to fully test the worst case. Has given me lots of peace of mind. Wish I had a way to keep the leaves from accumulating at the outflow opening though."

"Let me start off by saying that if I had hired Miller & Groom way back last summer to uninstall my whole home generator from my last house, transport it, and re-install it in my new home, I would have avoided a LOT of hassles and shoddy workmanship from the contractor I hired to do the original work (who, by the way, was not selected through Angie's List). Basically Miller & Groom took very haphazardly wired together power panels and rewired them to get them first into county code, and second to make sure the generator actually provided power to the things in our house we really need during an outage. Can you believe the original contractor didn't wire in the heat or nothing at all on the top level of the house? Anyway, Miller & Groom professionally rewired the power panels and now we have that peace of mind that when the power goes out, we have our generator providing sufficient power to most of the things we need to have on line if the commercial power is out for a few days or so. Great job and very, very professional, Miller & Groom! Miller & Groom also installed four outside, motion detectable LED lights. This also included the removal of those old gas vapor lights, that take forever to heat up and illuminate properly and probably consume way too much electricity to use. All wiring was done completely to code, professionally, and everything works as it should. Great job again, guys! Lastly, we bought an over the range microwave oven to replace the 10-year old unit we inherited from the previous homeowners. Miller & Groom didn't even charge us for the work! Great, precise work they did. All in all, I plan to keep Miller & Groom for the long haul, for jobs big and small involving anything electrical. Jason Miller, the owner, is a very honest guy, really, really knows his stuff, and will quote you a very competitive price. He stands above the contractors I usually have to deal with. and should be your electrical contractor of choice."

"My experience with Earth Friendly Service was a positive one. My husband and I recently purchased a house that needed some TLC. I reached out to EFS and then responded immediately. Within a few days Steve and Phil were out at my house to see what repairs were needed and to give an estimate. They were pleasant and knowledgeable. I received a couple other quotes but EFS was most reasonable as far as a balance of price and timeline for completion. We set a date to start and when they began the work, it was completed within a week. Steph was great. Detail oriented. Asked questions of my desires when there was uncertainty. Wayne, let his work speak for itself. Phil went above and beyond doing other minor repairs that he noticed as he went along and giving tips to us as new home owners. "mail.We originally contacted the contractor near the end of April since my wife and I wanted to get some stumps removed from our back yard and to replace the fence. We were also wondering if we needed to get the large spruce tree at the front of the house cut down since it was leaning and shedding alot of needles. Ben came out and gave us an estimate for removing the tree, grinding and removing the stumps in the yard, taking down the fence, and grading the sloping back yard, which is what we also wanted.
The quote we received was complete, and stated that it was good for 60 days. Well, work ramped up, and we weren't able to get fence quotes as well as a boundary survey completed until mid to late June after we came back from vacation.At that point, we had decided to leave the tree alone, since we were told it was healthy and not a danger. We also found a fence company we were comfortable working with.
Two days after the 60 days was up, I both telephoned and emailed the company with a revison of the original quote (minus the tree removal)  and said that I hoped that that quote was still good, and that we would like to get the work done within two weeks to coordinate with the fence contractor.
I didn't get any response, so I again left a voice mail.
I understand that it is a small family-owned business, but I would hope that someone would check both email and voice messages at least once a day.  Email is great, but it still doesn't beat the personal touch of a real person's voice on the phone.
I'd still like to hire them, and I know that I let time pass before deciding to hire them, but I would appreciate some contact, please.
